how anybody past the age of 19 might enjoy Converge is beyond me... it's really good hardcore/metal/crossover/whatever and i respect it, but i find it funny that any adult could listen to this stuff on a regular basis.

I tried getting into it this morning based on the hype in here and I just couldn't. Made me pine for my hardcore days, but I just can't go back. It's over.

my only point is that eventually you will grow out of good fast, ugly and heavy music and hopefully into more interesting areas and genres. the ones that don't ever grow out of this kind of stuff scare the shit out of me. i still play old hardcore and metal stuff from time to time, just not all that often.

and to be honest the little Converge that i have heard was not that special sounding to me anyway.

Converge is like what you listen to, just less MOR.

my only point is that eventually you will grow out of good fast, ugly and heavy music and hopefully into more interesting areas and genres.

Everybody who likes Converge here has done the latter, as they tend to be the small percentage of people on this board who aren't convinced that North American Indie Rock is somehow the center of the entire music universe.

The former is a Montana level assertion.
