I go camping, but my friends have been getting increasingly harder to organize for a trip. We used to go out to Kankakee or Starved Rock, usually.

Why would you want to go to Kankakee to camp, are you secretly visiting Dawn in Peotone?

No really, pretty much anything you can do in K3 you can do better someplace else in the region.

FF, my barber was just talking about camping right on the beach in Pismo. He said it was great. Do you anything about it?

I still haven't been to Pismo, I always miss the right turn at Albuquerque... Actually it's over 300 miles up the 101, just south of SLO, and we just haven't gotten past the "Gee, we should go up to Pismo Beach sometime" stage. We are planning on going down to San Filipe to camp this spring, possibly as soon as Spring Break ends.

camping = two-star hotel

That, or a cabin in the woods/overlooking the river/lake.

okay, so some of you camp and yancy does not... got it. i really want to get out a bunch of times this summer. probably all local (IL, MI, WI) but might be planning a trip down south thru Kentucky or up north to Seamus' area in Minnesota. i've been to most of the national parks out west in AZ, NM, CO, UTAH, TX, CA, OR, IDAHO, DAKOTAS. i really want to go to Yellowstone sometime and do some Appalachian Trail as well. also did the Lake Michigan Circle Tour a few years ago. 10 days, all the way around the lake. it was lovely. some favorites near chicago: -starved rock -kettle moraine (north,south, east, etc) -sleeping bear dunes (this place is fucking great) -shawnee down near carbondale anybody ever hear about campsites somewhere right on the lakeshore here in chicago? i heard someone say there is a spot somewhere where people camp legally.

Effortlessly holding that smoke with 130 pounds of blonde on your shoulders. You're quite virile. I don't know about lakeshore camping in Chicago, but there's a campground just about on the beach at Illinois Beach State Park in Zion. Not actually on the beach, but close enough. IIRC, being a state park in a dry town, the alcohol policy is draconian. It's been years since I've been there.

This is the third time I've made reservations at Governor Dodge State Park in WI, and my GF and I will cancel for some reason (this time it's to go to Aruba in early June w/a trip she won, we're just waiting for the travel company to confirm when we are going, but it's the weekend of our reservations.) We've driven through there and it was beautiful, we had been on a day trip up to House On The Rock (awesome, awesome, awesome place). They have good mt. biking trails there from what I've read. We've also gone to Kankakee and it's a nice quick drive, nice long paved bike trails as well.

Did I write pounds? I meant kilograms.

No I didn't. The truth is I've never been very good at guessing people's weight. A contributing factor is that most of your load-bearing apparatus is hidden behind his head, so I had to make an educated guess.

I'm just making it worse, aren't I?
