Thought tonight's episode was kind of slight...until that sledgehammer of an ending. Now I feel floored.

I think the best moment was (roughly paraphrased): "My biggest fear is turning into him." "Don't be silly Michael. You have much bigger things to fear."

The last two episodes have been top notch. For my money, the Office has now solidified itself as the top show on network television. Finally, NBC has made a smart decision: placing Earl and the Office into the Thursday 8:00-9:00 pm slot.

If NBC had been smart enough to pair Scrubs with Committed last year, the god-awful Four Kings wouldn't exist now. And neither would Close to Home on CBS.

And the world would be a better place.

All my life i wanted to be black.

Absolutely!!! i think they chose the right person to play gervais in the US but it will never be as good.

Gareth in the side car is one of the funniest scenes iv ever seen! And 'THE DANCE' brent does.

Brilliant!

I love the American version and still need to give the original a chance. However, this season's slate of episodes is on a complete uphill climb. They are getting funnier and funnier. Last night's episode was just grand entertainment. They need two solid comedies for 7-8 and a change at 9 and NBC'll be in fine form.

I love both versions The one shot I loved from the BBC version was when between scenes, they would just show all the drones at their beige PCs working away. I alternated between cringing at how uncomfortable the shot made me and nervous laughter at how dead on that on shot was.

I loved the pic that Michael showed of him (in the eighties) with his boss. If anyone can post that picture here, so I can laugh at it all day.

I cant quote this but I love when Michael told Dwight this used to be my desk and Joe Smith used to sit in that desk next to me. "Really, I thought Joe worked on the road?" "Well he did, but that desk was always empty so if he stopped in that's where he'd sit."

do you think the US version is as funny as the UK original?

When the NBC version began, it felt like an inferior version of the BBC version.

Over time, however, they have deviated more and more from the UK version - the plot has developed quite differently and the mood is quite different. The American version is much more an ensemble comedy compared to the British version, where the personalities of most of the supporting characters were implied rather than expressed. The show isn't quite as bleak and focused on the monotony of working life as the UK version, and has instead broadened its scope and explored life outside the workplace (for example we never really see Tim at home in the UK version, but we do see where Jim lives - the US version in general spends a lot more time outside the Office itself).

Really pleased with both shows at this point.

In the future there is only drink and birds.

What's going to be fun to see is once the Jim and Pam thing plays out, and NBC finds itself ordering up subsequent seasons, where it's all going to go.
