that was funny Watched the re-run last night of the party at Michael & Jan's. Great episode. Michael & Jan are having a contest to see who can make their guests feel more uncomfortable. They're both winning.

Also, one of the great 'that's what she saids' of all time....

All three of those re-runs last night reminded me that, yes, this show still beats 30 rock as the best comedy on TV and, yes, I am fuckin' pumped for season 5.... here's just hoping for no more hour-long episodes. Those are always feeble.

Wait, did this start back up again already? Edit: September 25th, 1 hour premiere. And you're tripping, Melted Cheese...the season finale last year, at one hour, was a series highlight.

i recently just watched the entire 4th season on DVD. the DVD's for comedies, esp the Office are worth buying... The Office has added value in their fantastic deleted scenes. Creed has one the greatest deleted scenes in S3: the Watermark episode the reporter covering the apology bumps into Creed in the break room and recognizes him "Yr Creed Bratton, from the Grass Roots?!" Creed exchanges pleasantries and the reporter says "i wrote your obituary 10 years ago" Creed explains to the camera "for tax reasons, i had to fake my death" (something along those lines)

"After much thought into this, I have finally come to a conclusion as to why the ‘Meet the Spartans’ commercial is so funny:

It is an interesting choice to have Sanjaya sing ‘I’m not gay,’ as his final words on earth. As he is plummeting into a seemingly bottomless pit, he does not say ‘dear god no,’ ‘I love you mom,’ or even simply ‘argh.’ He instead takes the moment to reaffirm to the world, in spite of their doubts, that he is not a homosexual. Not only that, but he continues to sing, despite falling to his certain death. The distinct lack of plausibility of this situation is what produces giggles from our mouth. It is the antithesis to the belief that ‘it’s funny because it is true.’

touche on the finale. that episode was great. I was thinking more about the first four episodes of the season that really started to drag at the 1/2 hour mark.

Creed has one line per episode, and it's always the best one. I liked that this episode brought it back to the pre-Season 4 style.

"I managed to go 28 years without having sex. And then 7 more years." Great episode. The Michael/Ryan relationship is brilliance. Also, Dwight crashing the cake party was just amazing.

I liked that they picked it up right after that finale... 'cause that finale was pretty good. I've never been a fan of the whole "skip the summer" narrative that shows always do. Just do the summer in one ep! Great idea! Other things... Why the hell was Pam staying in a dorm? As an RA? Kind of weird. Overall a decent episode. Nothing spectacular, really.

yeah this episode was surprisingly strong. i had the lowest of expectations for it and it exceeded them and then some. highlight for me was watching michael buy those counting crows tickets and then rip them to shreds. good stuff. also, the fact that they still sort of played up kevin being retarded early in the episode was pretty great. good episode

Yeah, that was great. It was so Michael, but it still caught me off guard. "I'll write you a cheque, my debit has a $60 limit".

I love the fact that you can completely believe Kevin sounding like he is handicapped without changing any of his dialogue one bit. The two highlights of the episode for me were Andy going "Ayyyy-oooohhhh!" when Angela kissed him, and Ryan explaining his poor treatment of Kelly with "I hadn't completely processed 9/11". Oh yeah, and Jan talking about her candles being used for the abducted girl's vigil, then being disappointed upon learning she'd been found.

Best moment for me was Ryan's deadpan name-writing after Jim called him on his "community service". Also, this Kelly/Ryan thing could get interesting. That look she flashed him when he said she was "perfect" was INTENSE. Great acting. 30 Rock has probably been more consitently funny lately, but this episode was very, very good. I hope the season stays this good.

Triple bill with Scrantonicity too.

Anyway, I've been thinking of growing a goatee over the weekend (my first)

After last nights episode, I just don't think I can do it.
