Pigs of the Roman Empire (Melvins & Lustmord)

Saw the vinyl at Amoeba for $9.99. So far - through side one - I got myself a bargain.

Corrupted- Vasana 7"

When I saw a guy wearing a Corrupted shirt in Kyoto, I wanted to high five him or slap him on the ass or something like that so bad. Japanese metal bands are cool enough as is, but man- these guys are heavy as fuck..heavy as fuck. They're so heavy, their lead singer's name is HEVI! Listening to this could probably turn your blood into oil if you aren't careful.

Wish they'd tour stateside more. So that I could see them live. I also wish I had more of their stuff!

RIYL(for those not in the know)- Earth, Boris, Khanate, Melvins,Japanese dudes growling in Spanish who don't do interviews or take pictures, fucking sludge.

They're touring the West Coast with Asunder, another absolutely punishing doom band. Check out Works Will Come Undone... fantastic album. Fucks your shit up.

Damo Suzuki: So, um, yeah. Getting older isn't as bad as it sounds. Better than being young & poor (DjDrake) or young & slutty (SG) or young, poor and slutty (Paves); am I right?

Alright, my friends. It's time for another solid little rock jam

No shit? Dudes need to venture out to the midwest. I doubt they'll ever be forcibly pulled out of the selective US date shit like Boris was, for better or worse. Will check out Asunder. Always more doom needed.

Sunn O))), Dømkirke

New live album. Vinyl only. Great cover. Gorgeous sounds. Really liking the organ. Incredible vocals.

Listening to this thing now in my dark, dark bedroom. Its awesome and will probably create some fucked up nightmares or something. Whatever, this thing is really good. I think I'm gonna order this thing come Monday.

The Bootlicker (Melvins)

hot sex.

edit: wow, this is really excellent. Completely different when compared to the other records - except parts of Honky (which I listened to last night, but didn't post) - but still great. This band kinda does everything. And really well, too.

Morton Subotnick - The Wild Bull

Classic 1968 electronica. I'm hearing a bit of Autechre in this, especially on side two.

RZA's rush-redone lo-fi beats obviously contribute to this, but you can practically hear the thick haze of
smoke in these recordings.

Brian's breakdown album, isn't it? Interesting how he goes to such lengths to deny being cruel to his girlfriend ("Good To My Baby"), only later to confess the same ("She Knows Me Too Well").

I know that I'm a bit of a superfan, but yeah, that's a solid album. It remains one of my favorites and doesn't seem to get much attention.

Un. Fucking. Believable.

Listening to the version of "These Arms of Mine" right now and it's so awesome I feel almost physically ill.
