I have been to BNL, Everclear, etc. where they pull someone from the audience and tell them when to "strum" or whatever and they become Instant Rock Stars (with help)...something along these lines for a guitarist with 1 year experience...Think songs the "School of Rock" kids could play...You always hear Rock is only 4 chords...Awesome songs over easy to play though...(I think a lot of bands in Indiana use this with electronic fill...)

Maybe to explicate further, the topic could be "Who Needs Lessons?: Great Rock Songs With Few Chords". Louie Louie comes to mind first.

"Is everyone on here just an act sometimes?"--Hummingbird

Read all of my stupid song parodies here. Latest song improved/ruined: "No More Mr. Nice Guy" by Alice Cooper.

Any AC/DC song comes to mind - the original three chord wonders. I imagine a lot of Ramones guitar parts would be fairly easy to learn.

All my life i wanted to be black.
Until i saw your picture, now i wanna be you.

With Gang of Four its all in how you strum the chords, kinda tricky for a beginner.

I think some of the easiest that I've encountered have been Johnny Thunders' "Chinese Rocks" and MC5's "Kick Out The Jams" KOTJ, more so, but... Some White Stripes are VERY easy, like "Seven Nation Army" and "Astro", and usually when you bust the Stripes out, people will start cheering.

You're right, "Fell in Love with a Girl" completely qualifies and so does almost anything by the New York Dolls

The Animals 'House Of The Rising Sun' was the first song I ever learned. or even ten Years after 'id love to change the world' easy repetitive chords.

andrew wk has a fan come up on stage pretty much at every show and play along with the band on 'she is beautiful.' im assuming that must be somewhat easy.
I've got dials and knobs soft to the touch

Just about every garage band has Deep Purple's "Smoke On The Water" in their repertoire.

I've been playing for 2yrs+ and I finally got the southern rock-ish aperggio from "Dead Leaves and the Dirty Ground", I'm pretty excited about that.

Two chord wonders: "Battleship Chains" - Terry Anderson "Roadrunner" - Modern Lovers (although they do succumb to the V chord once or twice, it can be ignored by the guitarist) One chord wonder: "Pablo Picasso" - thank you, once again, Modern Lovers "Shotgun" - Jr. Walker & the All Stars (one chord on gtr, two if you're playing organ)
I hate music
Sometimes I don't
I hate music
It's got too many notes

blink 182's catolouge up until recent has been fairly easy and helps with plucking and what not. all the sudden tom started addding minor chords and what not. you crazy?
Download this EP I made. The songs are pretty close to where they should be. I colaborated with Brian Wilson and Thom Yorke and then we all fucked in my basement apartment. Thom has a really big dick suprisingly, and Brian Wilson cried the whole time, yelling "These moans are not in perfect harmonic unison". Anyway, it sounds like what you would imagine something from that situation sounds like.
