Might as well throw my Last.fm page here, too.

The sad thing for me is that I can't enjoy Weird Al as much anymore because I don't get the parody. I mean, I get what he's after, but having never heard any of the stuff he's parodying these days, the full effect is lost on me. Not like it was 15-25 years ago.
Have you heard--
Confessions by Usher?
American Idiot?
Trapped In the Closet? (I haven't yet)
Are You Proud of Me Now by Taylor Hicks (THIS one, I never heard of before because I don't watch American Idol)
These are all parodied n the new album.
I would admit that some of his original songs are better than his parodies, especially on the more recent albums...

I've heard the Taylor Hicks song once...during the AI finals. Heard bits of one of the Green Day songs from that album, but I can't stand that band and have purposely stayed away from it. But that's about it. The others I've never heard and really don't care to.
Years ago I would have heard them without even trying, but not today.

Is this version getting cut off early at the end for anyone else?Guess the leaked video has caused AOL to pull the premiere. Too bad for Al.

Does anyone else ever wonder if Al's sitting on a huge pile of unreleased parodies that the artist and/or label freaked out over ala the James Blunt one?
Weird Al Yankovic- The Peel Sessions
Weird Al Yankovic- B-Sides and Rarities
Decade of Dementia
Box set, baby.

There are some that he was denied by the artist to do that he will still play in concert like "It's Still Billy Joel To Me."

Prince has notably refused Al to do anything on his work, parodies or polkas.
Speaking of polkas, I'm not so enamored of the polka medley on SOL...don't know if it's because I haven't heard half of the songs performed in it.
Better than I thought it would be.

Does the video disappear before the song ends? Yahoo does that, too. I presume that it's to prevent d'ling or copying to Youtube or something, but it's pretty damned annoying

Damo Suzuki: So, um, yeah. Getting older isn't as bad as it sounds. Better than being young & poor (DjDrake) or young & slutty (SG) or young, poor and slutty (Paves); am I right?
Alright, my friends. It's time for another solid little rock jam
