One of my dallas favorites: The Deathray Davies.

These guys have been around for a while and they keep getting better with age. Here's their latest DRD - The Kick And The Snare

Reviews from their website deathraydavies.com

"The Deathray Davies' fuzzy indie pop is frayed around the edges, like Guided by Voices, with a bit of dark, ragged crunch" - The Independent (Chapel Hill)

"With write-ups in People and Esquire Magazine the DRD's oft understated expressions are blooming within charminly excentric arrangements and bouncing progressions mottled with showers of guitars and keys. Absorbing influences from British Invasion bands such as the Kinks, Beatles, Zombies, and the Ramones they are sure to please." - Boston (?)

... enjoy!

I'm a few shows behind Chingram but yes... amazing live show. If they're ever in your area you should do yourself a favor and go. If it's on halloween you might get blooded. If not maybe Kevin will let you play his maracas.

Energetic, dancey fun stuff from Sacramento's DIDLEY SQUAT.

They opened for Nada Surf last night and were so good I bought 4 cds and 2 shirts.

Carissa's Weird - Songs About Leaving

http://www.sendspace.com/file/s6uo4e

Has some guys from Band of Horses in it. Different, than BOH, though. Got some accordian in there, I think.

This is one of the most depressing album's I've ever heard. Not saying they're bad... they're actually quite good. But good grief... "You Should Be Hated Here". ANGST.

Ya. Local band. Thought I'd share them because not well-known enough for my taste. I know, not what you're looking for..

Have yet to buy the CD, but these guys are pretty good straight-up punk..

Here's "State's Newest Noise Makers" EP from The Strange Boys... Dallas rock-a-billy/punk trio. Real short songs. High energy shows... their first show ever was in front of 8 people. They still smashed their guitars at the end of the last song. Fucking punk.

Here's an interesting track by the Blue Scholars. Mash-up of "Float On" riff with second verse of one of their songs.

http://bluescholars......ar Remix).mp3

Chin (I love calling you that for some reason), it's not hardcore. I was just joking, about how all these punk bands have names like..

RANCID
INFECT
DEAD BOYS
MISFITS
UNDEAD

etc.

Best Seattle music ever..

http://rapidshare.de/files/21806910/Are_You_Experienced.rar.html

It's a shame no one ever heard of him.

Yeah, and Deathray Davies is a really well-known indie band, too. Let's see some cool unsigned bands,
