Some of this is posted elsewhere, but really, the 5th best holiday deserves it own thread. Lets talk: What are you dressing up as? Do you get trick-or-treaters? What candy are you giving away? (it better not be mounds, or almond joy, or toothbrushes) What are your kids wearing? How seriously do the systems people in your office take decorating? Have the trixies made dressing up cliche?

There was talk of me going as Macho Man Randy Savage for a bit, but i realized finding a Macho Man costume at this point is kind of tough and I don't really have the time to assemble oen myself. So make way for possibly I.R.S., Irwin R Schyster, the evil tax agent as seen in my sig below (alongside the great Ted DiBiase). My kids are dressing up as Doink the Clown, Dink the Clown, and that other little shit midget clown that accompanied Doink. it's going to be adorable. And I haven't been home on Halloween in like five or six years, now. I don't know if we get trick or treaters. I would assume so. why wouldn't we. we live in a densely populated suburban area. I think on Halloween night I still might check out that Electric Six show at the Double Door or wherever it is. That could be fun as shit. oh yeah, and noone decorated our office. it's bland and i am ok with that.

Probably not dressing up. I don't like to do it half-assed and doing it well is too much trouble. I never get trick or treaters. No kids. No one in my office is very festive. I avoid trixies well enough to not know what traditions they're fucking up.

unfortunately, all holidays have been ruined for me in one way or another. generally, i like the idea of halloween but know that i will probably never enjoy it again. i'll probably be incredibly depressed and drink a big bottle of wine by myself. and eat candy, of course.

Yeah maybe,

To be fair it's just a case of sour grapes in that when I was under 12 no-one in the entire country gave a shit about Halloween but in the past 15 years or so it's really taken off (blame US films/TV and the card greeting card companies).

Also people who would rather go to a Halloween party then celebrate my birthday are foolish. (obviously only if I know them.)

Dudes: I went to target and got the scariest Wolfman costume. The mask rocks. It's a very simple ripped up lumberjack shirt deal with super cool claws. Very scary for little kids! As far as what I'll do: Walk with my kid through neighborhood. About it.

I love Halloween. My wife and I are going to be Belle and the Beast this year. I am skipping class on Halloween night so that I can stand outside and give out candy. The last two years I was Homer Simpson, and all these families wanted to have their pictures taken with me. It's completely rad. I don't know what kind of candy my wife bought. There is a grocery bag in the pantry full of candy, but I have made a point of not looking in there, cuz I would go nuts and eat it before Halloween. Mr Whiskers doesn't like clothes. We dressed up Wallace in a Bulls warm up suit that came with a Benny the Bull doll, and he actually liked it. He's going to be Ben Wallace (who he's actually named after) for Halloween. My office is too dumb for people to get into holidays. We don't have kids, but we're taking our two youngest nephews to the Abbey Pub next weekend to see the Los Straightjackets & Pontani Sisters Halloween show. We took one of them to see the Christmas show a few years ago, and he loved it. He's been asking when we're going to "rock and roll with the pretty ladies again" ever since. Should be fun.

i actually made that up about Lily Allen. halloween parties are the week before your birthday parties, though. you should enjoy both. i'm gonna be the Unabomber (the police sketch, at least).

i was going to be steve irwin with a stingray hanging from my chest, but i remembered what happened the last time i had an odd accessory in my halloween costume. (it didn't last there very long.) i was thinking of dressing up as a newsboy at work because i can probably get away with that as a costume. i never get trick-or-treaters in chicago, but i will have some apples with razorblades in them if anyone does come by. i doubt anyone in my office will decorate or even dress up. trixies have only made dressing up as sluts a cliche.

I love Halloween. I'm taking my goddaughters to "Boo at the Zoo" on the 29th. We usually get a bunch of trick or treaters, five or six bags of candy worth. I turn on my strobe light in the front porch, play creepy music, decorate, the whole nine yards.

I'm a huge, huge fan of Halloween. My girlfriend and I were going to go as Mark Antony and Cleopatra, but she decided she didn't like the Cleopatra costume so she is going as Medusa. So without her, no one will figure out who I'm supposed to be and I'll just be a random Roman soldier dude. We are having a party at our place though, very much looking forward to that. We bought all sorts of decorations - skulls, tombstones, ravens, all sorts of shit. Last year I didn't get any trick or treaters - I don't think city kids do that anymore. My office never decorates for ANYTHING, so I'm sure this Halloween won't be any exception.

I'll probably go as a clown again this year. REal easy to make decent face makeup via sites on the web and then hit Goodwill for some real bad looking pants, shirt and sport coat, over sized hat. Last year we spent it on Kelley's Island, one of the Lake Erie Islands. About 7 bars on the 5 sq. mile island. Everyone dresses up and something about being on an island, trapped, makes for great fun. We ended up around our bonfire next to my bud's cottage where I drunkenly stripped off my costume and one by one through the pieces into the fire. Stumbled inside to bed in my boxers and boots. Think I'll do it again this year!
