Why does anyone love music and act passionately in regards to it?

I suppose that is the greater point here and usually stuff like this doesn't bother me,But here it did. I mean I have no problem with Charles Kane being motivated by a sled,But for some reason this bothered me.Still, a solid movie.

Also, haven't seen Aguirre yet. But it's on my queue.

Get to see "Cadillac Records" this weekend for my movie review. Looking forward to see Mos Def play Chuck Berry. I don't know too much about this movie, which I think will make it more enjoyable.

Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas: My uncle sent me an e-mail a few days ago and told me to check my mail this week. This afternoon, I found a package with this inside. Why he sent me this movie? Who knows. I've never talked to him about it, nor have I ever received a gift from him (he usually gives cash). But, since I have it, I will be watching it. It's been a while and it is, in my opinion, the most loyal adaptation from a book. Gilliam scores big this time. Awesome collection.

Make sure you listen to Gilliam's commentary on the Criterion. It's a hoot.

An interesting documentary about the lives of four competitive Scrabble players. It's quite amazing to see this board game basically run these peoples lives completely. All of the people, but one, seemed to be jerks to a certain degree and really were taking this shit way too seriously.Still it was a good way to kill an hour and a half.

Finally saw "Wall -E". **** I know you guys have discussed it to death, but I really liked the social commentary. And make sure you check out the extra shorts on the DVD, "Burn-E" and "Presto" - fucking hilarious. You know, Pixar is basically what Disney used to be. (And yes, I knwo that they have a business relationship-- my point is, Pixar is making great fucking movies, whereas Disney is making "Treasure Island in outer space" and shit like that.
American Military Casualties in Iraq Date Total In Combat American Deaths Since war began (3/19/03): 4253 3421 Since "Mission Accomplished" (5/1/03) (the list) 4114 3313 Since Capture of Saddam (12/13/03): 3792 3115 Since Handover (6/29/04): 3395 2798 Since Obama Inauguration (1/20/09): 24 16 The first number is just deaths; the second number is deaths in combat.

Oh, she's wonderful. Gus and I are very lucky with women - she's wonderful.

Lars and the Real Girl: My friend, upon seeing it for the first time, said "[it's] like one great big hug." There are days where this might just be my favourite film of 2007.

Constantly talking is not necessarily communicating

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind: Best use of Elijah Wood ever. I'd like to see him play a Batman villain, like The Riddler or something, since he looks like he's straight out of a comic book.

Give us Frosty!

Christmas With the Kranks: As repayment for me making her watch No Country For Old Men on my birthday, my sister made me watch this on her birthday. But, it backfired, because I actually really didn't mind this at all. It's hokey, it's silly, but it isn't bad. Also, Tim Allen is ridiculously ripped, for some reason, there's a scene of him sitting in bed next to Jamie Lee Curtis and I thought his character was supposed to be a personal trainer or something because his arms are huge. Props to Dan Akroyd for turning his puzzling baldspot into a weird visual gag.

Sticks and stones may break my bones, but I will kick you repeatedly in the balls!

Step Brothers: I actually enjoyed this quite a bit more the second time around. It was somewhat surreal seeing Richard Jenkins stumble around cursing, and yelling "I am a fucking medical doctor!" mere weeks after seeing his Oscar-calibre, nuanced performance in The Visitor.

did you check out the step brothers commentary? Apparently it is done as a musical, with brion supplying the music.

And NBA All-Star Baron Davis...

No, I haven't checked it out, yet, but I will soon. Also, had no idea Jon Brion scored the entire film.

A fun little psychological thriller and Douglas is great in this(Especially in the resturant scene).Everybody else in this acts pretty robotic(Even Duvall) and the script doesn't offer a whole lot of depth(There are some social issues brought up,But the movie never meanders into a deeper meaning.).But,it's still worth watching for Douglas's performance as a crazy man driven to the brink.

Big big fan of this movie's box cover. I really enjoy Michael Douglas with a shotgun. Unfortunately, I have never seen this movie. Every time I go to rent a movie or buy a movie, I always see this box and get happy. I'll have to check this shit out.

Burn-E was fucking stupid.

Presto is awesome.

Agreement. Frustration comedy is hard to pull off, even in the digital age. Loved the nod to the old Disney "red carpet" logo at the front of 'Presto', even though the style of the short is all Tex Avery.

If you buy the DVD, catch the Easter egg doc celebrating the PIXAR crew's "geekiness."

As Spielberg says in the DVD featurette: "I didn't set out to make something bigger or better..." Oh how right he is.

A lot of fun, a bit of a throwback to His Girl Friday and other social/romantic comedies. Funny stuff without being cloy, every player is just right for their role, and Jon Krasinski looks comfortable playing something other than The Office's Jim. Another nice notch in the director chair for Clooney.

This just bothers the hell out of me. If he didn't set out to make something better, than why would he make it? The only reason to create another sequel, or so it seems, would be to continue the epic story and pay homage to the original film. I feel like Spielberg knew this movie sucked, yet decided to make it anyway merely to get a shit ton of money. What other reason would there be to create such an awful film like this? I hear Ford is on board for another one as well. That one I will not be seeing.

If you went into it looking for a good time you probably had a good time. If you went into it with an overly critical eye it probably sucked. It's a one time use only popcorn movie. You never have to see it again, but the first time is pretty fun.
