Fuck Yeah.
Johnny Cage was totally the unsung hero of this shit. Dude doesn't challenge Goro and win spectacularly, who fucking know how it all ends? And his battle with Scorpion? Shit yeah.
Prolly deserves its own thread.
Johnny Cage was the shit. Unfortunately, he dies within the first 4 minutes of the sequel. Big fan of using him in the video game and punching dudes super hard in the nuts. Always preferred Baraka and Smoke, though.
Such a great movie. I really enjoyed the overall emotional feel during this film. Almost no male actors made this an interesting creation as well. I watched this about a week ago and already wouldn't mind watching it again. My only criticism for this film was that Penelope Cruz's daughter seemed a bit "numb" the whole movie. I don't know if Almodovar wanted that, or she just isn't a very good actress.

I liked this a lot.It was funny, clever and had a film noir feel to it.Kilmer and Downey have great chemistry together and it's a shame that Val doesn't do more comedy films.Overall, this might be worth a purchase for me.

I like that movie a lot. Bunch of good one liners.
Something like Val Kilmer's character had the nickname "Gay Perry" or something like that. Downey Jr. asks him if he is gay and he saying something like "Me? No. I'm knee-deep in pussy. I just like the name so much, I can't get rid of it."
Good movie.
I watched The Ice Harvest last night. I've seen it 3 or 4 times and I thought it was a great selection for last night. The style and overall feel of the movie reminds me a lot of Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, actually. Good movie. One of my favorites to watch during the winter.

Ran:
A beautiful film for sure,But for some reason I was fighting sleep throughout the whole film. The filming is amazing though filled with beautiful landscapes and the battles are fantastic. The plot is also a very good re-write of King Lear,But my attention wasn't kept for the duration and I nodded off at least twice.Maybe I'm losing my patience as I get older. I dunno.

Doomsday: Just watched this: and I ended up really liking the hell out of it. Dumb? Sure. But it's like Neil Marshall filmed his every fantasy, the movie is like one big playground. What doesn't it throw together? Aliens-esque soldier entrances, virus-ridden England, cannibals, gimps, punk rock, castles and knights, gladiators, car chases, etc, etc. What an incredibly ridiculous, stupid, enjoyable movie. Also always like seeing Alexander Siddig get work.

Boy in the Striped Pajamas: Good movie, though not great. Loved the perspective-of-a-child bit, it made some moments all the more disturbing, when the young soldier starting yelling at the potato-peeler I nearly cried. I think I may have liked it better if

Avoid Seven Pounds. Terrible film. Didn't see it in theaters, thank god. But I saw it. And my god, it's awful. Will Smith has this perpetual "smells a fart/about to cry" expression on his face throughout the entire film and it's really quite comical. Combine his attempts at acting with the idiocy of the plot and character interactions, and you have grade A shit. If you see it, bring alcohol.

Wow. Not even worth watching it online? Good thing I didn't waste two hours.

This was great. Should figure prominently in our year-end if it gets seen. I completely forgot while watching that it was directed by Ron Howard..a good thing. As bad a year for movies that everyone seems to think it is, the number of seemingly quality films being released over these last few weeks should bring the year to some respectability. I'd argue that it was a much better year than last for the big budget/blockbuster films....it's just been well short on great artistic statements, though I'm hoping "The Wrestler", "Revolution Road", "Milk" and "Benjamin Button" deliver the goods.

First watch and it's a neat little horror film. You can tell they have a very limited budget here though,But that adds to it's style I guess. I was expecting this to be somewhat funny like Army Of Darkness(Which I've seen parts of.),But it was played in a more straight horror fashion. An enjoyable film,But not quite what I expected.
