If my boy Spencer K. doesn't see Top 10, suicide is the only way out.

Doesn't have a chance IMO.

171 ballots this year.

Goddamn.

Wasn't there less than 100 last year?

There's no way any of my picks are going to be anywhere.

M.Ward 35,000 points!

Is M. Ward really considered the front-runner? I got the feeling the elf-whore was running away with this.

2006: Bride of Sufjan

Though I'm among the chief Ys champions, I must say this is funny.

And also I don't think she has a chance in hell. Completely left off of way to many lists, what with the whole love it or hate it thing she has going for her.

Gotta be the Hold Steady

i can't help it. it's so fucking bad, and i think ppl are posting it b/c (1) they don't have any other albums to post, or (2) they only actually listened to the first song.

Or, becase ppl actually kind of like the album.

Sheesh, fellas. Can you be any more dickish?

And people wonder why more don't post on these threads.

wasn't being a dick, i thought his comment about Hold Steady was funny (that it appeared you were trying to vote for their last record (i knew it was a typo, just saying).

and my comment was just that Veneer was in no way a 2006 record (i even corrected The Current on having it in their list for their top albums ;))

Doodz, Mylo totally peaked last year. Eh, who cares..

1. Ellen Allien & Apparat: Orchestra of Bubbles
2. Holden: Chevrotine
3. Cassie: s/t
4. Some Girls: Crushing Love
5. Joakim: Monsters & Silly Songs
6. Charlotte Gainsbourg: 5:55
7. Pitbull: El Mariel
8. Ricardo Villalobos - Achso
9. Neko Case: Fox Confessor Brings the Flood
10. Cry Blood Apache: Performing Diversion Acrobatics
11. Jesu: Silver
12. Herbert: Scale
13. LindstrÝm: Itís a Feedelity Affair
14. Liars: Drums Not Dead
15. Acid Casuals: Omni
16. Camille: Le Fil
17. Rick Ross- Rise To Power
18. Beck: The Information
19. Nouvelle Vague: Bande A Part
20. Mouse on Mars: Varcharz
21. Jarvis Cocker: Jarvis
22. Hot Chip: The Warning
23. MSTRKRFT: Looks
24. Don Dinero: El Ultimo Guerrero
25. The Strokes: First Impressions Of Earth

this list is so perfectly SG. Like Charlotte and Lindstrom, but its the subtle selections, from Nouvelle Vague to Rick Ross, that make it distinct.

17. Rick Ross- Rise To Power

edit - I did not enjoy this album, and thought other releases were better. I also do not enjoy the current bandwagon of

Liking southern, hyphy and mainstream rap and hating underground rap is the new liking underground rap and hating southern, hyphy and mainstream rap

but most southern and hyphy rap is underground.

5 Ray LaMontagne "Till the Sun Turns Black"

Bhickman's OFFICIAL Top 25 of 2006
10. Ray LaMontagne - 'Til The Sun Turns Black

With all the love for M. Ward around here, I'm glad Ray LaMontagne at least got a couple of votes. I don't think any of the M. Ward lovers voted for Ray though, even though they are in the same bracket, too mainstream??
Sorry, I was being pretentious. Please don't mess with my stars.

Ray's latest record is a total snoozefest... and i LOVED Trouble. even though Trouble was somewhat hit or miss, the highs on that record totally outshine the highs on TTSTB. the song or two on the new one when he apes Van Morrison (horns and all) are decent.

in fact, most singer/songwriters that i'm normally a fan of disappointd me this year, besides Matt, William Whitmore, and a couple others

Here goes:

1. Matisyahu - Youth

Finding someone who shares 3 of my top 10 is fairly near impossible, good job.

If I had remembered the Chulahoma EP, we might have shared 4 in the top 10. I liked the Spearhead record as well... so nice list!

Dumbass quote; southern is southern. Don't tell me you don't support any of it boiling into mainstream success. Not gonna lie, I didn't listen to much hip-hop this year outside of singles and a few reggaeton flavored things like Pitbull (excellent). Rick Ross? Same reason I like Mike Jones. Tone of voice and a ridiculous fat fuck that cracks me up. Good slimy music for driving around and *edit.*

Alan, you're one to speak on serving to the trends. Effort would have been better spent on a custom sig 'P4KFANBOY#1!!' That list. ;)

(I heard the People Under the Stairs, like their stuff on Om better.)

Fuck on that Joakim thing. I put off listening to it because I thought it was a 2007 release. It's great.

Dun worry about it, it's thrilling to see more Joakim admirers around here. Was lonely there for awhile. You ever heard this dub? Albeit, nothing like the latest, it should suffice.

This thing is great. Where do you and Bruegs get this shit from? I demand to be at least sort of near the cusp of the wave. I've never found any especially great dance specific sites.
Well cool on the web like Spiderman.

Just an observation, but based on the last couple of pages of lists, i'd say that you should start thinking about how you'd like to go. Personally, i'd go with the ole head in the oven.
I don't even get your t-shirts pun.
