Damo Suzuki: So, um, yeah. Getting older isn't as bad as it sounds. Better than being young & poor (DjDrake) or young & slutty (SG) or young, poor and slutty (Paves); am I right?

Alright, my friends. It's time for another solid little rock jam

Ha, yeah, why the fuck is there a CC of Armageddon?

One of life's great mysteries, I would say.

Actually, I read somewhere that they released that one in the early goings of the Criterion series in order to finance the operation before it took a toehold with the more serious collectors. So, if thats true, I guess its forgiveable.

Has anyone dug into their Eclipse releases yet? Anything on there that looks essential? I like the idea, but a lot of these titles are really obscure.

And it looks like they're doing Jour de fete soon.

Still waiting for Slackmo to delete this thread.

The Bergman set is on my "to buy" list. After the Hiroshi Teshigahara box set, of course.

The Louis Malle set looks interesting.

I just saw Naked City and I thought it was a really well done film. After looking at the special features I realized what and important film I saw. 1 - This film was shot just months/weeks before TV hit the land and all the kids and families would wind up indoors. I mean you really notice how many people are just doing "stuff" outside 2 - One of the 1st films to be fully shot "on location" in New York. The way it was used was wonderful (again after watching the special features). My favorite Jules Dassin film is Rififi but I really appreciate this as a great effort. Glad I saw it.
