you guys realize that Axl's only made one good album, and it was almost 20 years ago, right?

I like the studio side of Lies even if it only had 4 songs on it

This album is going to sell because of a bunch of mitigating factors:

*Old fans
*People wanting the album to rule
*People wanting the album to suck
*People just to say they got it

This has all of the makings of a collosal hit. This may be music's Snakes On A Plane, meaning something that will do well despite the fact that it has no merit to do so.

Listen to my album, This Is Supposed To Be Fun, on Spotify, or buy it on any of the major online music services.

Maybe you all are right about it being a big seller, but it's been a long time since GNR was around. They were huge a long, long time ago. I am not so sure 35+ year old males are going to be running out to buy an album by freakboy. What the hell is the demographic of this bizarro band anyway?

Um, "Snakes on a Plane" was a total flop.

Yes it was. That's what premature hype can to kill a good buzz.
"Mellow... but not smooth... kinda shitty."
"Jimmy Buffett..."

And the best movie of 2006.

Because, as Mitchell pointed out,

Please don't include me in any discussion about Guns 'N' Roses.
Nice bowl of Crunchy Nut you got here, pretty expensive as I recall.

Why? This new song is more interesting than any of the new songs Radiohead has been playing.....

Every Sunday morning I wake up
I see you by your dresser doing your make-up
Fluttering a Chinese fan in a Knoxville fashion
All last night you tossed and turned
Your body was hotter than the night Richmond burned
You say you had a bad nightmare about tractor trailers crashing

New song could have been good but goes totally wrong in about 5 different places (one of which is the falsetto 2 seconds in). It's not bad enough for me to lose all hope in there being a decent song or two from this album though.

Ha. I just noticed this on hmv.co.uk:

http://www.hmv.co.uk...t...&sku=527255

Feb. 11th. Suuuuuuuure. I wonder how many people have given them 9 pounds for this? Must be some way for the site to raise money before the fiscal year ends.

(Edit: Also here.)

More yuks, via Wiki:

According to a 2007 interview with Sebastian Bach, it will be the first of a trilogy of new albums.[2]

HMV doesn't charge until an item has shipped so probably not.

Yes, I want to see this thread make it into the next decade. Wouldn't it be something if it came out with the new My Bloody Valentine? The world would implode. Or not care.

I'm still firmly of the belief that this will be the greatest rock 'n' roll story of the last twenty years as long as the album is never released.

I love that it's now part of a trilogy! As long as he never releases a shitty techo-metal second of it, this can turn into the la recherche du temps perdu of rock. Dave Mustaine in 2010: 'Dudes, hold tight. I've seen some of the 3D LP artwork and make-up designs for the videos. It's gonna blow ya'll minds!"

Rolling Stone and Stereogum are reporting that the proper album may have leaked and, perhaps more shockingly, is really good.
