Spiderman kept getting in my way last summer when going around the city. I want to see what he was up to.

Reno 911: Miami looks hilarious and has the entire cast of The State in it. I don't think Wet Hot American Summer even had that.

Paul Verhoven has gone back to Denmark and apparently back to movies that aren't hilariously retarded, with a WWII epic called Black Book. Say what you will about his general output, but Starship Troopers was a brilliant, hilarious satire. I want to see if maybe when back in Denmark he can make more great stuff.

I'm discourage because the guy who plays the Mac in commercials plays McClane's son, but Die Hard: With a Vengance was way too awesome for me not to be excited for Live Free or Die Hard. Eww, just realized how bad that title is.

Harry Potter, of course.

Michael Cera's in a funny looking high school comedy called Super Bad.

300 looks good.

I'd be lying if i said I didn't want to see TMNT.

"After much thought into this, I have finally come to a conclusion as to why the ‘Meet the Spartans’ commercial is so funny:

It is an interesting choice to have Sanjaya sing ‘I’m not gay,’ as his final words on earth. As he is plummeting into a seemingly bottomless pit, he does not say ‘dear god no,’ ‘I love you mom,’ or even simply ‘argh.’ He instead takes the moment to reaffirm to the world, in spite of their doubts, that he is not a homosexual. Not only that, but he continues to sing, despite falling to his certain death. The distinct lack of plausibility of this situation is what produces giggles from our mouth. It is the antithesis to the belief that ‘it’s funny because it is true.’

I like a lot of the cast and it looks kind of fun, but fuck me if it isn't just one big Snatch rip-off.

i enjoy action movies now and then. It's not better than Spiderman, but i was entertained by the movie.

I'm not so sure about this one....

THE NUMBER 23

Jim Carrey plays a man who becomes fixated on the number 23, and begins to notice that it appears everywhere around him.

Grind House is at the top of my list, QuintinTarintino & Robert Rodriguez teaming up. 300 previews look pretty awesome Spider-Man III- Looking forward to seeing Venom on the big screen Fantastic Four: The Rise of the Silver Surfer- The first one was painful to watch and this one will prolly suck too, but the trailer for this one has piqued my interest.

I've never seen anything by Paul Verhoeven that I don't consider brilliant and meticulously inspired.

I'm really looking forward to Lucky You because I respect the work of Curtis Hansen and there's poker in it.

Well, the word on the street is that he was absolutely sincere with Basic Instinct and Showgirls. While I love both movies, it's for all the wrong reasons.

I've posted my thoughts on Showgirls before. I believe it to be one of the best and most challenging films on American gender politics in the last 15 years. The way he makes nudity useless and non-sexual in a sex industry setting, and ridiculing those who make a living selling sexuality makes it a masterpiece.

Worried about that one 'cause it's been pushed back so many times. Any word on an official release date?

Zodiac: David Fincher. Mark Ruffalo. Chloe Sevigny. True crime. I'm dying over here.

Also anticipating: Lake of Fire, the abortion documentary 15 years in the making by Tony Kaye, and Sleeping Dogs Lie, the Bobcat Goldthwait gig that may not have gotten distribution.

how limited was the showing of "the last king of scotland" in 2006? i think it's coming out in the uk this january. i was interested in watching it but then after reading some of the interviews, the plot seems kind of dumb and i'm not that excited about it.

Now that I know that David Fincher has a new movie finally coming out, I'm dying to see that. My son has watched my DVDs of Seven and Fight Club and is a big fan of his now, too. The kid's been on a movie tear lately. He even picked up "Serpico" based on it having Al Pacino in it. Grindhouse is my most anticipated, but I have to admit that, even though I didn't see the first F4, the idea that the Silver Surfer's in this one intrigues me.
