Note: Your favorite movie of the year on DVD (or another if you already have it) mailed to the SOMBIE who identifies the most references from the teasers. First to answer correctly for each teaser gets a point. Don't PM me as I need my box open...just respond in the thread.

Daniel Johnston is shown eating at McDonalds.

The Running Scared teaser is a quote from Michael McDonald's song in the original Running Scared.

Your writing brings a smile in my face. Great intro (not just because you mention me...)

B)

My baby's gonna love Happy Feet in about a year. The music was great.

Niiice. 2 points. Wondered if anyone would pick up on the reference to that Billy Crystal/Gregory Hines classic.

It's a reference to which teams are "on the bubble" entering the NCAA tourney.

And of course there's the matter of Jack ordering the Code Red.

The Road to Guantanamo teaser is of course a reference to Jack Nicholson's speech near the end of A Few Good Men. Jack plays Col Jessep who is in charge at Gitmo.

EDIT: I just saw Slackmo already threw that in there.

I ranked that movie high

You should never vote in SOMBie polls under the influence

Don't think he's saying it's a bad movie, but referencing the possible double meaning of your post. "I ranked the movie (while) high."

You deserve a break...if you end up losing the contest by a point, a DVD to you as well. Happy Feet belongs in every father's collection. :)

46. Neil Young: Heart of Gold
Directed by: Jonathan Demme

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0473692/

From Peter Travers (Rolling Stone) 3 1/2-star review:

My, my, hey, hey. It's something special when Neil Young teams with Oscar-winning director Jonathan Demme not to make a movie of his life but to sing and play the hell out of it on a stage. Demme and cinematographer Ellen Kuras set up eight cameras in Nashville's Ryman Auditorium, where Young and his band did two gigs in August. The first half consists of songs from Prairie Wind, the album Young recorded last year after a brain aneurysm threatened to call him out before he hit sixty. Screw that. With a voice that still stands up to the country-rock throb he coaxes out of his guitar, Young lets his new songs of hard and high living on the Canadian plains bleed into the classics he wrote for Harvest and Harvest Moon. Demme is there to catch every note of bruising beauty. You don't just hear it in the music, you see it etched in Young's face. This is more than a movie, it's a privilege.

Metacritic Rating- 85

I guess the reference is to a Neil Young song. My Neil Knowledge is not that deep. :(

It's a lyric from Neil's "After the Gold Rush", from the album of the same name.
