anybody like Battles? I really liked their first three ep's EP B, C EP and Tras. I've been looking forward to an album since they signed to Warp and now Pitchfork has a new track streaming.
well this track is very different from the first three ep's (think Autechre meets Tortoise). first, it has vocals!?!? it's a really strange track that should not be catchy but somehow manages to be. check it out.

they seemed to have had the potential to be a really good band. those first demos were just wonderful. the demo version of "isabelle" sounds just perfect all this time on. then the eps came out and i was all like, "well, they still could be!". now i don't even care anymore.

I like their new video and the song teases me with a great build-up, but disappoints in the end.

The vocals on that song are retarded. In that annoying, pretentious art rock way. Ruins the song. I do like the song "Tras" on their myspace page, though, so I will give the album a shot.
