They each get $15.5 million a piece after the split and presumably taxes.

the beautiful thing is that if they churn out even a nominal rate of return (say, 5% pre-tax; call it 3% after-tax), that's roughly $450k per year. granted, their real return is maybe only 1% per year (or about $150k). but they all live in nebraska where the cost of living is loooooow. so, that money should go a long way.

I picked up a pair of lottery tickets last weekend for the first time ever, on our way to a bar in Indiana. Only matched one number. Oh well.

I really don't think picking up a $1 lottery ticket a couple of times a month is really such a "stupid" decision on my part.

I play megamillions pretty much every time it goes above $100 mil. I get $5.00 worth of quick picks on Friday, stash it in my wallet, and try and avoid any lotto results till Monday... the idea being that when I get to work on Monday, there's a slim chance that I'll get to burn some bridges and go home. It's a stupid ritual, but worth the five dollars.

I loathe those "tugjobs." I get my one quick pick for the big game every now and then. Those weirdo creeps are at the corner of the counter whistling through their nose, rocking back and forth in their sweat pants, pawing their 96 oz Pepsi jug with silvery fingers, and fussing with a pile of scratch offs and pick your own number forms.
