All right everyone, the time has finally come and the End Of Year polls are opening up.
Albums Lists are due Sunday December 16. There aren't any exceptions to that. You've got about three weeks, so there shouldn't be any problems with people not having enough notice. Also, let me know when you submit your list if you are interested in writing blurbs for the top 40 albums.
Just to go through the rules again:
-You can vote for as few as five 2007 albums or as many as fifty 2007 albums.
-2007 Albums include: 1. LPs of all-new material 2. Live albums (not ones being re-issued or of all old material) 3. Label compilations (of recent stuff) 4. Artist remix/b-sides/unreleased compilations of all of mostly 2007 material
-To submit your list, either post it in the thread or PM it to me. Any list posted in this thread in countdown form will be considered a final list. If you need to make a change once your list is submitted, you can only swap one album out to replace with another.
-2006 vs. 2007 eligibility is broken down as follows--if you can make a case for it being 2007, you can vote for it. So that includes albums released in your country for the first time in 2007, albums that didn't receive wide exposure until 2007, or albums that were released in Dec. 2006 and didn't have enough time to sink in before voting last year.
-Finally, nothing that was on our Top 100 Albums of 2006 list is eligible. You can not, under any circumstances vote for anything that made the top 100 albums last year. Just so you know, these 100 albums are:
100 Sunn 0))))/Boris Altar 99 Mates of State Bring it Back 98 Figurines Skeleton 97 Fujiya & Miyagi Transparent Things 96 Final Fantasy He Poos Clouds 95 Mission of Burma The Obliterati 94 Long Winters Putting the Days to Bed 93 Wolfmother Wolfmother 92 Pearl Jam Pearl Jam 91 Matmos The Rose Has Teeth in the Mouth of the Beast 90 Wolves in the Throne Room Diadem of 12 Stars 89 Helios Eingya 88 Jesu Silver 87 Morrissey Ringleader of the Tormentors 86 Booka Shade Movements 85 Drive-By Truckers A Blessing and a Curse 84 Jarvis Cocker Jarvis 83 Cansei de Ser Sexy Cansei de Ser Sexy 82 Neil Young Living With War 81 Black Angels Passover 80 Rapture Pieces of the People We Love 79 Mogwai Mr. Beast 78 Annuals Be He Me 77 Futureheads News and Tributes 76 Bonnie "Prince" Billy The Letting Go 75 Scissor Sisters Ta-Dah 74 Fiery Furnaces Bitter Tea 73 Ricardo Villalobos Achso 72 Sparklehorse Dreamt for Light Years in the Belly of a Mountain 71 Man Man Six Demon Bag 70 Melvins (A) Senile Animal 69 Be Your Own Pet Be Your Own Pet 68 Comets on Fire Avatar 67 Calexico Garden Ruin 66 Danielson Ships 65 Grandaddy Just Like the Fambly Cat 64 Regina Spektor Begin to Hope 63 Swan Lake Beast Moans 62 Love is All Nine Times That Same Song 61 Antennas Sins 60 Bruce Springsteen We Shall Overcome 59 Killers Sam's Town 58 Thermals The Body, The Blood, The Machine 57 Strokes First Impressions of Earth 56 T.I. Also, one last thing I just want to remind everyone about. If there is an album that you're really passionate about but not many others know of it, don't wait until we start the countdown to complain about it not being higher. Use this thread to make sure that everyone else is made aware of it before it is too late to vote.
That should be everything. You can get started with the questions, voting, and fishing.

Jenny lewis came out early 2006 as did fox confessor by neko. The decemberists were later in 2006 but I don't get how the other two would count and those were just a few off the top of my head.

I always tweak my list a little bit, and edit out items that literally no one is going to vote for. Has anyone here even heard this: I assume not, and I'll leave it off my list. Do all soundtracks go into compilations?
--------------------
QUOTE (Montana @ Oct 16 2009, 01:01 PM) Not really. And 13th Floor is commercial, watered down west coast hippie bullshit which sadly inflicted most American rock acts at the time. GOTCHA

while i like living w/ the living, i'd probably rank it as the weakest of the last 4 TL/Rx releases. it most certainly wont make my top 10. that said, i'm stoaked it got a #1 vote so that it'll do better in the countdown

QUOTE(Alright Still @ Nov 24 2007, 02:08 PM) 01. Siobhan Donaghy - Ghosts: The best pop album of the year that is seriously being overlooked. This album has some of the best pop songs I've ever heard. Siobhan's vocals blend with the earthy feel of the tracks so well. Please, please, please, please check this album out. "Don't Give It Up" / "So You Say" / "Medevac" / "Ghosts"i listened to the first youtube... sounded very good anyway you could up the album? i want to give this serious consideration
