Guided By Voices - BoxThis was waiting for me when I got home, from eBay. The first five GBV albums, plus a bonus LP of rare stuff. I didn't expect these to sound so good. All the records are DMM mastered - audiophile grade pressings. now blasting: Self-Inflicted Aerial Nostalgia

QUOTE (franty @ Jul 30 2009, 10:28 AM) i was psyched to see this leak. cornershop is way underrated. even handcream for a generation is a great record. me, i'm listening to this: it's about as good as hoped for/expected. not lifechanging, but fun enough for sure.

Yeah, I have the CDs. It's just that this record label isn't particularly known for high end quality vinyl, and it seems they really went all-out on this package. The pressings are dead quiet, and appear to be specially mastered for this set ("Europadisk/DMM" in the deadwax), not just a re-press from existing material.

Just a few listens into this, but I'm baffled by all the praise it's getting. I can't recall ever being this bored by a new YLT release.
