QUOTE (Sid Hartha @ Aug 1 2009, 07:02 AM) Just a few listens into this, but I'm baffled by all the praise it's getting. I can't recall ever being this bored by a new YLT release. I'm usually incredibly bored by this sort of stately, measured 'indie rock' but this is pretty fantastic. The production is interesting, the songwriting is great.. Second half is kinda iffy, mostly because it's YLT trying to do elite music (like really boring Oneida or something), but the first half of the album that has actual songs is pretty damn nice.

QUOTE (MattyPickles @ Aug 1 2009, 12:50 PM) Nice! The high note on "World's on Fire" brings me right back to the high school hallways.

Listening the new David Bazan album, Curse Your Brances. Definitely different from the PtL stuff. Average, really. Heartbreaking lyrics, however. I mean, great, but it's a surprisingly emotional experience hearing someone whose music you've grown quite intimate with go through this type of...thing, I guess is the only I can think to say it. The strangest breakup album I've heard.
