Okay, this one has finally clicked...I'm on board. Simakos, please consider any and all outstanding karmic debt--resulting from your Annuals* recommendation--repaid...in fact, I may owe you.
*Ha! No sooner did I type this, then one of their songs ("Bleary-Eyed") popped up on a mix I made! Okay, these guys are good for a song here and there.

I'll just assume you're talking about the Annuals album here...

I'll just assume you're talking about the Annuals album here... guess again. PP is a hypnosis album, thus the unwarranted praise. they've hypnotized you guys into adoring submission.

Thanks a lot! I must be some sort of litmus test: "uh-oh, Seamus even likes it...overrated!". I'm not nuts about this record...but I've come to somewhat embrace it. It's good...and that's a much better take on this record than I initially had. And please don't let my new Saga avatar factor into any of this.

I'm really surprised at how much I like this album, given how I've never clicked with Animal Collective.

ahahahaha also: June 21 Ottobar Baltimore June 22 First unitarian church Philadelphia It's like he made this tour just for me. Two of my favorite venues of all time, and he only chose three. God. I love it.

I'm really confused by the praise. When I listen to this, it just sounds like there's nothing there. At least with the Arcade Fire and whatnot, even if you despise the music, you can understand what's drawing people to it, but I just can't find a single thing here that someone could, or would want to, latch onto. It sounds dead.

QUOTE(redheadstepson @ Feb 3 2007, 09:31 AM) When I listen to this album, I always imagine myself in Endor doing tribe dances with Ewoks.
You need to get out more. Then again, maybe I do too. I didn't realize there was an animal collective connection here. Not that it matters.

Actually, this was my initial reaction--almost to a tee. I've come to enjoy this one, though. It's actually pretty good.

Yeah, I actually walk around our pad with my iPod on because the tunes get so far stuck deep down in my brain.

Listened to this last week and thought it sounded like something Brian Wilson would make if he listened to a lot of Tool records.
Maybe I'll try it again sometime.
