Avacado is a fruit; it has a stone.
I'm not a big fruit fan though. I do like apples and bananas and limes though.

The Aztecs used the avocado as a sex stimulant and the Aztec name for avocado was ahuacatl, meaning "testicle." In the pre-Incan city of Chanchan, archaeologists have unearthed a large water jar, dated around 900 A.D., in the shape of an avocado.
yeah, avacadoes are good as well, but nothing tops a perfect grapefruit. Let us not forget the glory of the clementine either.

I've been having these every week now. Last week I had the best one of my life and almost started a thread about it. It was that good.

I've been waiting with great patience for this to become a reality but it looks like the sticker lobby has more clout that we imagined.

When I can find them, I get the big tub o' grapefruit sections @ Costco. Saves you from all that tedious peeling, and it's just pure grapefruit.

Grapefruit: Citrus for real men. None of this sissy-boy "Oooo it isn't sweet enough!" nonsense here. Either you dig that heavy, acidic flavor bath that, when accidentally rinsed down with milk produces the vilest flavor known to man, or you just can't take it.

I have a whole one everyday for lunch. No sugar or whatnot. Just eat it like an orange.

I love grapefruit, but hate getting to it. Luckily, those Fruit Naturals cups are available. You can get a box of 8 at Sam's for around $8. They are about 120-140 calories and sectioned for you already, yet taste like they just were cut this morning. Otherwise, I'd never spend my time trying to eat one (or oranges, for that matter).

Hunter Thompson ate at least one grapefruit for breakfast pretty much every day. There is no higher endorsement.

I had one of these last week that turned out really bad. All stringy and gross. At every store I've gone to they cost more than a whole grapefruit and I don't know if you're getting more than half of one in the cup. Besides, I've grown to enjoy the ritual of cutting and sectioning a whole grapefruit while I'm still waking up in the morning.
Probably good as a healthy snack
on the go but I don't see myself buying any more of these.

Well, that's the only way I eat them. I don't have time to cut one up, and I usually eat my fruit at work, so there's no way I could massacre a grapefruit in my suit and come out not needing to head directly to the dry cleaners. I rarely have a bad FN cup, though. Sorry you had a bad experience. They are far more expensive, but having it pre-sectioned is worth it for me.

When they are peeled, depithed, deseeded & the outer membranes removed they are called "Supremes" (pronounced like you're a Brit, not like you're talking about Diana Ross).

holy shit, onions and grapefruit? i couldn't dream a more vile concoction. what no milk for dipping?

That actually makes a really good salad: The astringency of the onions makes a nice counterpoint to the acidity of the grapefruit. Mom always used walnuts and not avacado, but I bet the creaminess of the latter gives interesting texture.
Shit, now I'm hungry.
