What's a Scotch Egg?

My Grandma used to make pickled eggs. Eggs shouldn't be purple and they definitely shouldn't be around long enough to be pickled. eew.

Scotch Eggs are a Hard Boiled Egg, wrapped in Sausage Meat, then rolled in Bread Crumbs & Fried. They're often eaten cold while picnicking.

I think bacon might also be involved, but basically that. Sounds like the worst thing ever, but I kinda want to try one just so I can say I did it. Like climbing everest, but with food.

when i was headed off to college my mom asked me what i would eat without home cooking. i said, "i know how to make deviled eggs." she knew better, "really? tell me how you make them." i started by saying you go to the store and buy hard boiled eggs.

That sounds super disgusting. Despite the more obvious reasons it might sound gross, anything that is breaded and fried usually tastes awful once it's cold. yuck.

i second this. my mom makes excellent (best i've had) deviled eggs and when i was finished filling the half eggs with yolk mush at xmas, i plated them and put them on the dining room table. no paprika. first my mom yelled at me. then my grandma tsk'd at me. my dad gave me a funny look and my uncle gave me a noogie. never forget the paprika.
