hey world,
this:
Wishin' and Hopin' and thinkin' and prayin'
Plannin' and dreamin' each night of his charms
That won't get you into his arms
So if you're looking to find love you can share
All you gotta do is hold him
And kiss him and love him
And show him that you care
Show him that you care just for him
Do the things he likes to do
Wear your hair just for him
Girl, you won't get him wishin' and a-hopin'
Thinkin' and a-prayin'
Just wishin' and hopin' and thinkin' and prayin'
Plannin' and dreamin' his kisses will start
That won't get you into his heart
So if you're thinkin' of havin' true lovin'
All you've gotta do is hold him and kiss him
And squeeze him and love him
Do it, and after you do you will be his

an essay by Princeton University professor emeritus Harry Frankfurt. The essay, originally published in the journal Raritan in 1986, was republished as a separate volume in 2005 and became a nonfiction bestseller.
In the essay, Frankfurt sketches a theory of bullshit, defining the concept and analyzing its applications. In particular, Frankfurt contrasts bullshitting and lying. Where the liar makes deliberately false claims, the bullshitter is simply uninterested in the truth. Rather, bullshitters aim primarily to impress their audiences. Whereas the liar needs to know the truth the better to conceal it, the bullshitter, interested solely in pretense, has no use for the truth. By virtue of this, Frankfurt claims, "bullshit is a greater enemy of the truth than lies are."
This work laid the foundation for his 2006 follow-up book, On TruthI gave the pair of books to my brother for his birthday.

Not if he's talking about gluten-free. I've had good gluten-free bread before, but it was homemade at a bed and breakfast in Seattle. I've yet to find anything comparable. Whole Foods brand looks like it might be tasty, but it's almost $9 a loaf. Not worth the gamble. I don't like the odds. boo to wheat intolerances.

i need to write a book on bullcrap and claim and it's worse than bullshit, which is worse than lies, what just makes bullcrap plain horrible
