It astonishes me that female boarders are able to look pass the very real prospect that they may be drugged, raped and murdered by someone they know online.
Did these women learn nothing from the myriad after-school specials of their bygone youth?
Like that one where the girl meets that dude on Myspace, who turns out to be leading a white slavery ring and forces her into prostitution. She then has no choice but to turn tricks to pay for back-alley abortions and a methamphetamine fueled anorectic lifestyle.
Terror.

Well, the self-defense part of it is definitely neat. But in talking to my cousin he said it's a really visceral and intense workout. I tend to believe him because he's big into MMA and happens to be a ex-Marine. Dude, knows his shit.
Usually, I go down to the gym about 3 times a week for some competitive sporting. Just to break up the monotony of daily workouts. It's getting a little boring though.
I want something I can work toward improving on but still get that human-to-human competitiveness. The "no quarter given"/"fight or die" aspect of Krav Maga seems to emphasis that.
Not actually looking to hurt anyone though. Goodness sake! I know how to sew, knit and can tell you how to put together a window treatment.
Of course, it certainly won't hurt to know how to defend yourself when forced into prostitution either.

Yes. I have to get creative w/ my weight lifting routine - which I do about 4-5 times a week - during the winter months as running outside is impossible. For me at least.
I'm getting bored w/ lifting weights and am planning on picking up running more regularly once the weather turns. My goal is to complete the Kettle Moraine 100 in June. I feel I need to go beyond looking good & feeling good. I need to test myself now.
