Someone from atease who says they have a reliable inside source posted the new radiohead album should be available in September. They also said radiohead are about to resign to EMI.

Sounds about the right time, fits in with their touring schedule. I'd guess House of Cards will be be released as a single in August then.

I am not sure about that. According to the radiohead message board they were working on nude which is an old track. The guy on atease has been right about all his radiohead inside info so far. So it's likely he is right abouta September album.

I can't see Nude being released as a single. Would mean the band would immeaditely get shat on for releasing a single written nearly ten years ago, would be a bad move.

Yes, there seems to be alot of discussion around them releaseing a ten year old song. Maybe they were just playing with our minds. Anyway check out the post straight from their own message board

It's ok, I read AtEase daily. I've no problem with the song being re-recorded and featuring on the album, just not as a single (unless it's not on the album if that makes any sense.)
I still think House of Cards and Arpeggii are the most likely single candiates of the songs we are familar with.
If you would like to start an interesting discussion here, feel free to make a poll of Radiohead Vs. Pink Floyd.

knives out was an old tune, retooled and reworked, and was released as a single. they could probably do the same with this other song. radiohead could like record bats flying out of a cave and people would be "shits genius, god, the part with the bats flying out of the cave! genius!"

I like Knives Out. That wasn't old song as much as one they spent 380 days on in the studio, Nude was played on the OK Computer tours. As great as it is I can't see how releasing it as a single would be anything other than a stick to beat them with.
Re-singing with EMI means we will probably have a GH of some kind by the end of 2007. This would be the best place to but things like Nude and Follow Me Around.

I'm pretty sure if Nude was on a GH compilation and released as a single it would stand a good chance of being a number one in the UK. They've had #1's up in Canada. I think the song is strong enough to appeal to the casual fan. It wouldn't be a big hit here cos It wouldn't get on the radio. Modern rock chart though, It could happen.

Well Nude is being worked on, I find it unlikely that they will drop it again unless it really isn't working. So it's going to be on the new album, unless it doesn't sit with the other tracks. Radiohead have never been afraid of leaving something an album if it doesn't fit and releasing it at a later date. High and Dry, Motion Picture Soundtrack, Knives Out, Pyramid Song, Cuttooth etc all where bumped to B-sides or worked on for inclusion on later albums. They also went back to older songs twice on OK Computer (Lucky and Exit Music.)
So if it doesn't fit the album they have a choice of B-side, put it back on the shelf or have it as a new track on a greatest hits CD much like the likes of Blur, R.E.M. and countless other bands have done in the past. If the album hits in September and they have re-signed with EMI/Capitol I would hazard a guess at GH being out for the Christmas 2007. They might want a catchy song that will get daytime play on Modern Rock/ European radio to help promit it. R.E.M.'s biggest hits in the UK are The Great Beyond (from Man In The Moon Sndtrack) and Bad Day (from In Time).
Radiohead had a #1 single in Canada with Knives Out in August 2001.

radiohead make music for people who think they are smarter than they actually are.
it's music for shallow people who like to think they're deep.
it's protest music for people who are more interested in protesting than in the causes themselves.
it's arty music for decidedly non-arty types.
it's music for people who care more about process than results.

I remember a couple years ago I was trying to get a good version of "Big Ideas (Don't Get Any)" but all I found was the B minus MSG version and a version that some nerd took off of Meeting People Is Easy, he actually had to edit out all the talking in between and paste the song back together, needless to say it was a failure. I'm excited about an official, "proper" album version of "Nude/Big Ideas (Don't Get Any)/Failure To Receive Payment Will Put Your House at Risk". It guarantees that at least one song on the new album will be great. I don't understand the logic of being more excited to hear B-sides and rarities you've already heard vs. hearing new material.
For the people expecting it to suck, are you saying that Radiohead's been built up, so that almost anything they do will be a letdown? Or do you really think they're out of creative ideas? Maybe you didn't like Hail to the Thief that much, but name some bands who released albums that good ten years into their career.
And while it's pretty good, "Knives Out" is way down there on the list of Radiohead tunes.
