Cheers for this! I have to admit I'm a bit scared. I absolutely adored his other solo album (and Temple Of The Dog), and the last few years have been a bit toilet-cirlcling for the man. Still, optimism abounds.
Hmm, Billie Jean? Right, still scared...

Who is that quote from? Who is so lacking in knowledge as to call this his debut album?!

I'll upload track 1 for you, as it's a decent enough litmus test for the record as a whole.

OK, first two tracks:
'No Such Thing''Poison Eye'I had stuck them on my blog, but I figured a shilling 'download HERE!' link would be too cheap

Oh God, Chris. What happened to you? I couldn't even finish listening to the first song. Second one is on now. I'm not impressed. Hang it up baby, before I forget how great you used to be.

That's the worst thing - this new mediocrity is shoving out my memories of past greatness!
Only so much space in mah head.

I can't say I'm disappointed by this album. Its as bad as I expected it to be. His first solo album was pretty spectacular. This album is filled with generic songs made barely tolerable by Cornell's still excellent voice. There are a few decent tracks though. I like Ghosts and Scar on the Sky - I think if the production was just a little different they could fit right in on Euphoria Morning. Poison Eye also sounds like it would have been a decent song in the hands of Soundgarden.
We'll see where things go from here for good ol' Cornell, but I'm not expecting much.

Ugh. Embarrassing. Makes his work with Audioslave sound like a revelation. Never good.

Haterz. I liked the two songs Throughsilver posted better than anything on Euphoria Morning (save one). If someone would re-up the album this weekend when I can download it, I'd be much obliged.

How does someone go from the epic Badmotorfinger, which still rocks the socks off the satanic fox, to this Starbucks lobby bullshit?

the last two Soundgarden albums are good. People give shit to Down on the Upside but there's some tight stuff on there, especially on the second side.

They lost their intensity after Badmotorfinger. I didn't like most of the albums after that, just a song here and there.

There's a link on Yahoo! music of him doing "Billie Jean". I hoped it was just some gimmicky bullshit he did for a live crowd. I never thought he'd record it.
Doing "Billie Jean" is a slow weepy version was only funny once, and Robbie Fulks did it 5 years ago. Now it's not even funny for him.
