Awesome list. Sort of amazed to see Miller's Crossing go top ten, and so high above Barton Fink. Interesting list. Groundhog Day any lower and I'd have to slay all of you. Fuck that "favorite" vs. "greatest" shit, too. Groundhog Day is GREAT. Great, great, great. As wonderfully vast and multitude-containing as any movie in the top ten.

And yeah, Kids being nowhere to be found is a bit unexpected. I guess. Maybe.

I don't remember Spinal Tarp going number one, crazy. Watched it a few weeks ago. Still pretty funny.

Random thoughts looking through the lists:

- The top three of the 1990s list is as stong as any decade/time period. The rest of the top 10 or 20 -- not so much. OK, I'm being nice. Riddled with crap.
- My favorite extended series from the 1990s list is 21-28. Films of crap interfere with any similar sequence of eight films in the top 20.
- The 1990s list will look a lot different when made 10 years from now. There are a lot of films that will not stand up to the test of time (5, 8, 12 instantly pop into mind). Do we really think Rushmore compares to Annie Hall or Raising Arizona? Office Space to Airplane or Monty Python? It is to laugh.
- The 1970s rule. Ingoring the ridiculous film class/art house pick at #9, numbers 1-11 crush any of the other lists on a position by position basis. I could take those 10 films to a desert island and be happy.

I have to agree that considering the strength of the 70's poll down to #20 having those two Ashby pictures in the top 20 is kind of ridiculous. I also don't see Rushmore being considered one of the ten best films of the decade in twenty years either, it's certainly not going to crack Sight and Sound let alone, say the AFI top 100 in 2017.

1999 was the tits. I'm glad I was able to see 15's if not the 18's at the cinema.

1999 was, if not the greatest year for film ever, certainly the most revolutionary. I could (and might) write a book about it.

All of the #1s by decade have a party scene (I think). Interesting to note, for me anyway.

From what I remember Mousehunt was pretty great. And I cannot bring myself to hate any Jurassic Park. Otherwise, I don't care about any of that list.
