Full Version: The Love Thread
Sound Opinions Message Board > Anything Goes > Et Cetera

things are tense these days. message boards crash, canada's turning conservative, whales keep dying in the thames, and why do they even bother mining coal anymore, anyway? current events make a person so frustrated and feel bogged down by the world.

this thread is to cure all that. post pictures of things you love, or loving thoughts. and then feel great and fuzzy inside. no fighting allowed, especially with me. only love. sweet sweet love. but no porn. sorry dan.

i'll go first. things i love:

I love Trader Joe's brown paper bags. Ya know, with the handles.

I'm angry with all this new music. I think this may have happened in 2004 and 2005 though. The first couple months of the year are hell due to all the new leaks and feeling like you're starting back at square one with a fresh twelve months. I don't want to start slow and fall behind. Oh well, I should probably save this for the "hate" thread. To get back on track...

I love lime salt in my beer. It makes a Bud Select, like a Bud Select Plus.

Well the most popular beer salt is "Twang." Althought I've been using stuff out of a little shaker called "Limon 7" or something. You can get chili salts, pickle salts, and of course the lime salts I was referring to. It's great for adding some pep to more bland tasting beers. You get all that extra flavor, without a piece of fruit floating in your beer.

Biscuits & sausage gravy with chopped up hard boiled eggs in it, it makes the gravy incredibly thick & rich.

I'm a hoppy man myself, but the fizzy yellow rocks my world for a daily drink. Drinking a six pack of "real beer" everyday would leave my body in shambles.

Yep. You brown & crumble the sausage, then make a roux with flour & the sausage. While the roux is cooking chop up the hard boiled egg whites & mash the yolks with a fork. When the roux has cooked enough to no longer taste of raw flour, but before it's too browned, you add enough milk to make it a little more runny than you want, add the chopped eggs and cook it 'til it's the consistency you want, then serve it over split & buttered buscuits.

I think I like "Down Home" cooking like this 'cause I grew up in the Deep South: Staten Island. (10 points for those who get that joke. This offer excludes Forgo, Dr. Bill, Dr. Jimmy or GiNY).

I think cheeky's British...explains the reaction to biscuits 'n gravy (which is a great dish).
