This is one I did a couple years back for a Drum n Bass 12"
Its a full piece, so the left side is the back and the right the front....

For the same DnB label, I also did these three for a set of EPs they did.
The artwork was limited to spot colors and was designed with a mostly common backside and a piece of art meant to stretch across all three covers while remaining self contained in each.

A digipak design for a CD EP. The band lost their deal or somehting and were unable to produce these, which sucks because I really like it, even if it is a little trendier than I liek to go, designwise.

A cardboard CD sleeve for a great band called Fleeting Joys. Very 4AD sound, so I ripped off Vaughn Oliver quite a bit for this one.
They werent feeling it for the American release but want to use it for Japan.
Again, left is back, right is front

oooops. On that one left is front, right is back. my bad

This is a full package design with logo for a dude down in LA named Miles Mosley. Does hip-hop flavored jump jazz.
I posted this for some reason in the music board a while back.

Oh snap. It just clicked for me why the Luna design looked familiar. You posted the link to that art like a year, ago, and I remember that being my first gigposters experience. Very nice stuff. I recently bought my wife a couple concert prints for her office for xmas, I may have to add one of these as well.

This one is pretty self explainey...
Cardgage, I'm a design snob, but your work kicks ass. Really, really love the color palates. The textures, too. Your stuff invites repeat viewing.

Here's a "vintage" style t-shirt I designed for a merch company (legit one) back in 05.
Got paid like very little but they did end up in Nordstroms fall line where they sold the fusge out, so that was a nice ego-stroke.

I have one of these but for some reason it looks awful on me.

I like your style. The designs are busy and complex, but they all make visual sense. It's clear you know how to lead the viewer's eye. Love the use of color and contrast. I tend to like more minimalist designs, but your designs have a very clear and strong sense of design, and don't look like somebody just puked graphic design history over an album cover. I also like the careful font selection. All the fonts you've chose go very much with the mood and style of your designs.
You get a gold star from me.

I'll just echo all the rave reviews here SC. This is really great work. I made a mental note a long time ago to talk to you when our next album's ready, but see now that you're way the hell out of our league. Is it your full time gig?

Here's the straight design of The Doors shirt.
Also, there are the 3 other designs the merch company commisioned and bought.
These may never get produced, or they may have already, or they may be in the future.
Dunno. Once you submit em, youre on your own.

And yes I am fully aware that one is for Incubus, but they paid well and I was psyched when they said they wanted a "retro jersey" feel.
So I opted for a 70s soccer feel. That 33 detail o n the lower right is designed to go right on the side, about 3 inches below the underarm.

Another one I had posted a while back in the boards, but I cant remember where or why.
A commissioned cover for TapeOp magazine. The dark rectangle was for text placement, but that turned out to just be wishful thinking, as they ended up just running a black box over the area anyway. Made me sad.

What Ill do is up the contrast on a photo to make mad amounts of distressed looking noise in the highlights and shadows. Ill convert to paths, open in illustrator and then select the areas that look like compelling distressing to me.

do you use Illustrator for this stuff too or just Photoshop?

Little bit of both. Mainly illustrator for compositing and text, but I need photoshop to create some of the color washes and to blow out the photos for vector.

Burlesque make better posters than anyone ever.
And t he versatility of their crew is mindboggling.
Aaron Horkey could be as big as Escher some day.
So so ill.
The Burlesque Arcade Fire series ALONE makes them classic.
