sucks that this had to be inevitably compared to
Do Dallas, because it's so unique, bizarre and awesome in its own right. Doesn't hit nearly as hard on the surface but there's almost nothing that sounds like this album. "She Will Only Bring You Happiness" following up the first two tracks is a mindfuck, "Lucky Jim" scares the shit out of me, and the whole thing taken at once is way more of an experience, for better or worse, than
Dallas. Writing something as good as this while almost purposely destroying your career is pretty impressive.

Holy shit, was listening to this and thinking about just the same thing eariler. Fucking kickass album that's far too underappreciated because of its predecessor (which, to be fair, is amazing and probably one of my favorite albums ever in the whole entire 00's).
Personally, "Support Systems" scares the shit out of me. Fucking untamed beast of a song.
"Forget About Him I'm Mint" is just as fun of a sing-along as anything on Do Dallas.
And well, what can you say about "She Will Only Bring You Happiness" that hasn't already been said? Even though it's totally out of character for the band (probably their most tuneful song amidst their most intense album), it's one of the best songs they ever did.

one of the greatest bass tones of all time on "That Man Will Not Hang". Out-Sims even Sims himself.

Mclusky was just baller all around (well their debut was stellar, but it was still solid).

only one month left...
but yeah, Difference is fucking rad.
One of my favorite parts on the album is the "HA, HA...HA!!!" part on "Icarus Smicarus"
and you're right, "Lucky Jim" is terrifying and kickass.

Really great record. I was so happy to find a cheap vinyl copy a few months ago. I actually like it a little more than Do Dallas.

Sounds like its every bit as good.

Do Dallas is the smart and pissed-off punk rock album that everybody loves, and it's definitely great, but if I want a band that actually sounds like they should be in prison,
Difference without a doubt.

Mcluskyism in full is an absolutely phenomenal listen. Do Dallas is quite obviously their tour de force, but man they really did have great songs scattered all over their catalog. Absolute shame they disbanded so early on.

Haha. Good record. It should have come packaged with a line of coke.
