O'Reilly Warns Olbermann's Fans He'll Sic Security on Them
http://www.imdb.com/news/sb/2006-03-06/#2

QUOTE
The Bill O'Reilly/Keith Olbermann feud became more bizarre over the weekend when a caller to O'Reilly's radio show, syndicated by CBS-owned Westwood One, was contacted by a member of Fox News Network's private security force apparently for mentioning Olbermann's name when he called in on Thursday. The man had barely gone on the air, remarking, "I like to listen to you during the day. I think Keith Olbermann's show ..." when O'Reilly cut him off, remarking a moment later, "When you call us, ladies and gentleman, just so you know, we do have your phone number, and if you say anything untoward, obscene, or anything like that, Fox security will then contact your local authorities, and you will be held accountable. Fair?" Anti-O'Reilly bloggers have been having a field day with the dispute, with one site, PoliticalCortex.com, offering accounts of persons who were contacted by Fox News security after calling O'Reilly's show. One woman said that she was accused of making harassing phone calls to O'Reilly. "I asked him how many? He did not know. I asked him what was said that was harassing? He said that he did not know what was said but that it did not have to be what was said, but how many calls were being made. He tried to make like I made 20 phone calls instead of one." Another blogger wrote that the security officer who phoned him "was actually very pleasant. ... Honestly, he really didn't sound like he wanted to be doing this at all." Ratings for Olbermann's show on MSNBC have zoomed since the spat began, particularly among younger viewers.

Bill O'Reilly's an idiot.

Bill O'Reilly has done one good thing. Without him, there would be no Colbert Report.

i have found myself watching O'Reilly lately out of morbid curiosity and hatred. It's like watching a really good villain or heel in pro wrestling. You hate them, yet you want to see more just so your ire can be raised more and more before you explode.

Seriously i hate O'Reilly alot, but can't help but flip him on if i'm free.

I wouldn't be surprised if he gets in a sextape scandal. Something about him strikes me as sleazy. Gross.

eh, whoever calls that show is asking for it anyway.

the most fascinating, compulsively watchable radio/TV personality of our era. watching him is like watching jordan at his peak. he's that good. as a somewhat moderate lefty, even i have to concede he's an amazing talent.

the only lefty i've ever seen take him down was michael moore, which was actually a complete shock. i thought o'reilly would wipe the floor with him. i had a newfound respect for moore after that...

I can't watch him. I don't find him fascinating at all. He exudes the demeanor of a complete asshole. That's not my kind of entertainment. Especially when it comes to political commentary.

http://www.thesmokinggun.com/archive/1013043mackris1.html

OCTOBER 13--Hours after Bill O'Reilly accused her of a multimillion dollar shakedown attempt, a female Fox News producer fired back at the TV star today, filing a lawsuit claiming that he subjected her to repeated instances of sexual harassment and spoke often, and explicitly, to her about phone sex, vibrators, threesomes, masturbation, the loss of his virginity, and sexual fantasies. Below you'll find a copy of Andrea Mackris's complaint, an incredible page-turner that quotes O'Reilly, 55, on all sorts of lewd matters. Based on the extensive quotations cited in the complaint, it appears a safe bet that Mackris, 33, recorded some of O'Reilly's more steamy soliloquies. For example, we direct you to his Caribbean shower fantasies. While we suggest reading the entire document, TSG will point you to interesting sections on a Thailand sex show, Al Franken, and the climax of one August 2004 phone conversation. (22 pages)

ouch, that hurts. Is it okay if I cry, now?

The heated polarization of political television is a total farce to me. If I want skewered political argument then I'll go to the local bar or something. O'reilly represents the figurehead of this dumbing down of the left and right for entertainments sake. I just don't endorse it, that's all.

have you guys heard the actual tape? Stern played it and I could not figure out at all what the problem with it is. O'Reilly must be out of his mind for making someone call back callers on his show who say "Keith Olberman"

way to parrot Stewart's argument, unoriginal bastard. that was the point of the kittens and ice cream comment, but i guess it didn't tip you off.

the louder and more disagreeable the personalities, the greater the entertainment value. stewart's argument profoundly misunderstands the function of political TV shows. they're not forums for solving problems. nor should they be. that's what we have elected representatives for. when i turn on the TV, I want argument. i want insults. hell, i wouldn't mind if they had wrestling matches every so often to act out their disagreements. this is why Fox News is killing CNN. CNN thinks that having the reporters share with us what they ate for lunch will make us care about them and hence tune in. (there's been a big push to sell us their newscasters... hence the increase in painful transitional banter... "well, caferty, we know you don't like anyone... har har.")

I'm not tuning in to watch Anderson Cooper because he once told me he wears boxers. Hell, I'm not even tuning in to watch the news. why would i do that when i have the internet? I'm tuning in for filtration. Give me a damn point of view. Fox News gives me that in spades, so they win my vote.

keith played it on his show last week, the night after it happened. i don't recall the exact timeline of it but all throughout the shows (countdown) history, olberman has made it a point to highlight o'reilly's idiotic tendencies. apaprently o'reilly got pissed off and on his show pleaded to nbc universal to bring back phil donahue because the show that took over that timeslot on msnbc (olberman) had apparently been getting abysmal ratings. this, of course, isn't really true. the best thing is that o'reilly never mentioned olberman's name, just stating that he was worried about the future of msnbc and wanted some actual competion. he then started a "bring phil back" petition on his website. olberman called him out on it and had every staff member of msnbc sign said petition. the next day, the dude call o'reilly, apparently about to badmouth olberman, and o'reilly censored him. i think somewhere in his mind he feels that if he doesn't actually SAY olberman's name in any way shape or form, he won't get into any shit. so, he isnt allowing his callers to do so either.

uhm, i watch countdown every night....

I don't like jon stewart, either. I think he is part of the problem, as well. If I'm guilty of stealing his argument, then so be it. That was not my intention. As for calling me a bastard, fuck you.

of course it's my opinion. i didn't think i needed to spell that out every time, but i guess i will from here on out.

in any event, i'm not alone in my opinion -- as evidenced by the viewing habits of the news-watching public.

Yeah, this is pretty much it. If anyone wants to see the actual video, go here and it should still be up.

I watch Countdown every night too. There is no denying that Olberman has an opinion about the stories, but he does a pretty good job of not letting it get in the way of the reporting and actually having a newscast. And he's a lot more entertaining than any other cable "newscast."

Bill Oreilly is an arrogant, homophobic blowhard and a bully - but - I have to concede that as a moderate - some of what he says borders on sensible. Still, much of his behavior is laughably absurd, particularly when he responds to his critics - it's so obvious that he takes it very, very personally - which says plenty about his character. And of course he is a perverted hypocrite who paid off a woman who was clearly harrassesd by him.

This man, on the other hand, is the biggest peice of shit up the ass of the far right conservative movement to come along since Pat Buchanan.

In terms of shear ugliness, Hannity has Oreilly beat by a mile.

Big fan of Keith, only one of the cable news shows I watch regularly and watching this thing unfold since the begining has been great. I'm glad to see others were able to catch his montage of Bill being named worst person in the world.

O'Reilly isn't overly conservative like many say, its just that he has the maturity of an ill-tempered 5 year old with rhederic skills. Its his way or your wrong. If you disagree he'll yell, cry, cut you off, or tatle on you, but contort the story.
Uncle Remus
Just caught this Hannity guy for the first time ever tonight while waiting for his interview with Howard Stern (I'm fairly obsessed, yeah).

Hannity was on the wrap-up show with Baba Booey and Jon Hein today and seemed like a nice enough guy, but on his own show he's a real cocksucker. Save for when he was talking to Stern, I wanted to hit the guy with a chair each time he spoke.

if this isn't a sign that O'Reilly is losing his edge I don't know what is. Dodd actually took him to task
about his antics which I don't know how often O'Reilly allows ppl to do. He generally shuts em down pretty quickly if he feels he's lot trhe upper hand. you'd almost wonder whether it was really his show at a certain point. funny to think that he could actually turn into such a softie.

After O'Reilly provided an "accountability moment" to the JetBlue CEO at his home, I decided to provide O'Reilly with his own accountability moment at his home.

I've got video of O'Reilly in his sleepwear (red shorts and a white t-shirt). I delivered the Andrea Mackris Court filings to all of his neighors - every home in his development got a copy. And I put a bunch of signs up along his street - "Bill O'Reilly: Andrea Mackris has your cash" directly across from his house; "Bill O'Reilly: PERVERT" in front of his home; "Bill O'Reilly: CHEATER" on the road he must take to exit his development and "Bill O'Reilly: Can't be trusted with your daughters" at the landmark boulder marking the entrance to his development.

I'm looking forward to a big live on air meltdown soon.

o'reilly is just good for the lulz. Seriously, I find it hard to take anything he says seriously considering his retarded form of "debate" that involves insulting anything against his moronic, bigoted views. I just can't wait till he insults somebody's mother (unless he already has and has already paid them off before a defamation suit).
froghat
I'm a conservative I can't stand Bill Oreilly either. Frankly, these 24/7 news station formats are getting annoying. Whether it's Oreilly, Olbermann, Matthews, etc. They all have the same gimmick. Invite people on your show, let them speak if they are saying what you want them to say and if they disagree with you, interupt them and go on a rant.

Papa Bear's Imus moment?
QUOTE
The talk show host's seemingly flattering comments about a famous black-run restaurant in Harlem illustrate his ignorance of black culture, some black leaders and scholars say.

"I couldn't get over the fact that there was no difference between Sylvia's restaurant and any other restaurant in New York City," said O'Reilly on the Sept. 19 edition of his nationally syndicated radio show.

"There wasn't one person in Sylvia's who [was] screaming,'M-Fer was, I want more iced tea," he told National Public Radio's Juan Williams. "[It] was like going into an Italian restaurant in an all-white suburb in the sense of people were sitting there, and they were ordering and having fun. And there wasn't any kind of craziness at all."

Unfortunately, O'Reilly didn't report whether or not the colored folk were using utensils or where they were spitting out their watermelon seeds.
