So, is it just me, or is there a particularly nasty cold strain that's making the rounds? My kids had it first. It took around two weeks to finally peter out. Then I caught it and haven't been able to shake it for more than two weeks. To make matters worse, it morphed into a sinus infection last weekend.
Symptons include...
- Nasal/sinus congestion
- Runny nose
- No sense of taste/appetite
- Body aches
- Alternately feeling feverish/chilly
- Headache

Nope, there's a nasty cold circulating out there. I keep fighting it off, but my co-workers are dropping like flies. I be strong like Ryan, fight off infection.

Interesting! Folks out here have had it too--not just co-workers, it seems to be everywhere....in NorCal at least.

Yes, half the workers have called off this week because of colds. The old lady I work with was sneezing all over the place, I'm doubling my vitamins this week.

This is like no cold I've ever had. Much more acute symptons. Much more prolonged.

I got the flu shot and have successfully avoided getting anything. Probably the bird flu. I'm sure we'll all be dead within the year.

I had this like two, three weeks ago. Despite being sick, I went on an 8 hour long van ride with 9 other people from my school paper to Minnesota for the weekend. Ride up, I was the only one sick, everyone else healthy. Ride home, 8 of the ten staffers were sick, myself and another were healthy. Subsequently, my approval rating witthin the paper has plummeted.
But now I feel it coming on again. My nose is running like nuts and I feel more fatigued.

My significant other just called and reported the same thing. And a couple people called out from work today and another left early.
Fortunately I have a perfect immune system.

I had it too. I usually get bronchitis once a winter, but managed to avoid that this year.
But I've that same freaking cold 3 or 4 times, which has never happened before.

I've had no appetite for about five days. Yesterday, I ate a little bit of chicken rice soup for dinner. And that was it. Day before it was a few slices of pizza, nothing else. And today is shaping up as another sans food.

And you look fabulous!
I've avoided this cold, but I think I have Bronchitis: for the past week I've had a nasty chest & throat rattle, but 90% of my coughs are dry & unproductive. I'm gonna have to go to the doctor to get my throat swabbed & tested for biota or viral infection, then take a course of whatever it takes to kill this with a side of codinated cough syrup.

Worst part of this year's first cold is yet again the internal squeaking and ghostly creaks of the skull's canals & cavities compressing & releasing after you blow your nose. And the up-and-down ear accuracy - like being on a superfast elevator or airplane descent all day: my ear's are clogged, MY EARS ARE FINE, my ears are clogged...no, no MY EARS ARE FI-no, they're not they're clogged again.
I huffed Afrin like Steven "Popcorn" Adler over the weekend and I've been through 4 or 5 boxes of Puff's Ultra. Got a sensitive nose. Doing my part to keep the economy churning.

I have been living, for the past three days, on a steady diet of green tea and Nyquil. I hope this passes before Thanksgiving.
