74. Tally Hall - Hidden In The Sand

Bruegs
75. Mull Historical Society - Paper Houses

This popped up on shuffle when I was actually on the beach so I had to stop it and check that I wasn't hearing real waves.

76. Underground Resistance - Big Stone Lake

Don't think I've listened to anything this year as much as I have this. One of the most beautiful and perfect songs I've ever heard.

77. Husker Du - Standing by the Sea

Bruegs
78. The Aliens - Everyone

_______
so here's a song by The Rheostatics, Canada's best kept secret... this song doesn't have ocean sounds. but the whole tune is about the deep ocean and beaches and stuff, plus the background singing and guitar tones sound very oceanic. also want to point out that these guys used the word "californication" about ten years before the Chili Peppers did...

79. The Rheostatics - California Dreamline

Bruegs
Simakos, think of this thread as a shelter. It provides refuge for pedants, obsessive compulsives and a wide cross-section of the autistic spectrum. Here we can escape the unpredictability and general lawlessness that persist outside.

Your maverick rule breaking and inability to adhere to clearly established criteria do not sit well in here. I’m vexed. God only knows how Undo will feel about all this.

I appreciate this but unfortunately Bruegel is right.

You've gotta have something on this shelf that would work.

80. Air France - Beach Party

Bruegs
↑Nice. Im pretty sure there is another Air France song with ocean sounds but I cant find it at the moment.

They are positively throwing themselves at me at the moment. This one came to me in a dream....

81. All About Eve - Martha's Harbour

I give you not only ocean sounds but three minutes of labored nautical metaphors.
Bruegs
I don’t know why this didn’t occur to me earlier. Forgive me land of my fathers...

82. John Cale - Emily

Bruegs
83. People Under The Stairs - The Wiz

84. Ernie - I Don't Want to Live on the Moon

85. Mike Monday - I Am Plankton

I've thought of another BSP song if you want that Undo?
velocity
86. Cornelius--"Smoke"

This Charming Man
Did someone already post Cornelius - Drop?

Edit: Well, I guess a drop dripping doesn't qualify for "ocean sound".
velocity
Yeah, I felt almost silly typing "Smoke."

Meanwhile, yay! That's three! Three remaining Cornelius fans. Welcome, torb.
Bobzilla
Can't believe I didn't think of this one before:

87. The Small Faces - "Lazy Sunday"

If the anticipation becomes too much for you to bear, things go coastal around the 10 minute mark.
Bruegs
96. Baaba Maal - Jamma Jenngii

I think it’s fitting that this song is appearing so late in the piece as I’ve always associated it with that strange mixture of joyful accomplishment a reflective sorrow that characterise the completion of a treasured endeavor.

I was so far ahead of this trend but try as I did, I could never quite pin it down like Mark Richardson does here.

oh damn you guys finished. great job. I just happened to hear another of these which you can download here
Aphex Twin-Ageispolis

Rob Gordon
Just looking over this thread for the first time really. Such a great effort.
Waves Within
Rob Gordon is otm as ever. Some dedicated dude needs to make a .rar of all these tunes, what a five disc playlist that would be, probably wouldn't leave the stereo in my whip for months, especially when the unseasonably beaut weather hits in March.
