Rob Gordon
OK, the theme is of course 70's.

The contents is a collection of 70's, mostly early to mid 70's top 40 fare. I avoided disco. Most artists are one hit wonders and many will be unknown to the younger crowd, though I did slip in some touchstones.

The main thing I wanted it to be are songs that have not been played too death and would allow for a feeling of discovery for some of the SOMB.

And enjoy the songs !

If anyone wants to make some cover art/track listings please do! For some reason I'm having problems with Roxio label creator and Photobucket. Yeah yeah, I know about changing the extensions but just ain't happenin'. Shit.

Damn, that's pretty extensive there, RG!
Nice job. And like you said, I am not familiar with the majority of the artists.

Give me about a week or two to absorb this, and I'll be back with a report.
wishbone
Looks interesting. Especially the soul.

5. It Never Rains In Southern California – Albert Hammond

from Wiki:
His son, Albert Hammond, Jr. is a successful solo musician and also a member of The Strokes.

I never made that connection before.

Yes, it wasn't something I'd read either. Just one day was hearing it ..recalled the artist and thought...mmmm... I wonder?

And such a great song. OK, there's a poll. Has Jr. had a song better yet? I think not.

These comps ease the pain I've endured since trashing my old K-tel LPs long ago. Way to go Rob!

Yes, that's partly where the name. K-SOMB, came from. As well as, my take on a format not used on San Andreas radio in Grand Theft Auto.
Dr. Johnny Fever
Crap, this is awesome. Thanks, RG!
KaBoom21
Haven't heard Smoke From a Distant Fire in a long, long time. Nice work.
Angrimorfee
Great stuff, Rob.

8. Magic - Pilot

useless fact: Most of this band ended up as session men for the Alan Parsons Project.

Sweet. Thanks Rob.

Will love to hear your thoughts on some of these forgotten classics once you've listened.
DrAftershave
this is like 70% of the music on my itunes playlist that was imported from my original CDs.
Tracy Jacks
I can't believe I didn't have "Best Of My Love" in my iTunes. Love patching the holes in my collection.
Rob Gordon
One last bump before this expires.
Merle
I haven't been able to use my computer this week because Ms. Waylon is working from home. Will it still be up at the end of the day?

Really no idea when it'll expire but I suspect it'll be ok tonight.
Shacho
These are amazing. Thanks, RG.

For the record, I'm just getting to this now (thanks for the bump), and they're still live at 9:25 Eastern AM time.

I should probably get out of bed at some point.
