seconded. The descriptions I've heard of it make it sound like the hottest thing possible. Plus, Last Exit is in my top five of the decade, easy.

I liked Last Exit a lot.
It just wasn't as good as all the hype had me believing it would be. I'll dig it out again tonight.

This seems like a good spot. This cd is fucking great. kicked ellen and apparat out of the electronica loop. this disc is fantastic. Is the SOMB not digging this like me? am I nuts? #3 disc of the year no doubt. great stuff.

So it did leak? I'm out of the loop. I need to hear this. And they need to tour again. Dinner + wine + Junior Boys @ the Bottle is hard to beat.
I think the link is up in the 2006 leaked thread. I just snagged it not too long ago.

Yeah this leaked quite a while ago and yes it's very good. "In The Morning" is so addictive, I always play that one 2 or 3 times in a row when I listen to the album.

def worth a purchase. I'm loving this more and more. I've played it 4 times today. I gotta slow down so as not to burn out on the beauty.

I was just playing the new one this morning. It's really really good, but I have to say it's a few notches below Last Exit. That was my favorite of album of 2004, so it had a lot to live up to.
And of course, I will buy it when it comes out. But I couldn't wait until August for it.

Really looking forward to it. Did the song that pitchfork reviewed get leaked, or is it available now?

I saw them at LSA 2 years ago with, like, 50 people in the room. I thought they were pretty good, but if anyone else thought so too, they were trying really hard not to show it.
I don't brag about going to shows hardly
ever so I'm allowed this.

Cool album. Sounds bigger than the first one. More soulful, too. People said the first one had a strongass soul influence, but it's even more obvious on this one.

When I first heard this, I thought it was a step or two below Last Exit. The more I play it though, the more I love it. These guys are the real deal. Soulful isn't the first word I'd use for this white guy pop electronica, but I find an emotional resonance in Junior Boys that I can't find in a lot of music of this ilk. Hard to believe I've had this for almost two months, and it'll be almost another two months before I can grab a hard copy.
The EP is a nice bonus to have. Thanks Burzum. Love the "In the Morning" remix and "So Sleep". "The Equalizer" mix...not so much.

It's good this leaked months ago, because this has grown on me in a huge way. Best Canadian album of 2006 so far, easily.
I read they have a drummer now. Should be interesting.

So, this show was really great. There was a small but enthusiastic crowd of about 150. There was a live drummer, a dude on synths/laptop/mixer and the singer who also played bass and guitar. The drummer mostly seemed unnecessary as he just played along with the electronic beats, but he didn't get in the way or anything. Someone in the crowd yelled "You make New Order look like the New Kids on the Block" which they said was the best compliment they'd ever gotten. Highly recommended.
Setlist (as best as I can remember):
So This Is Goodbye
The Equalizer
Like A Child
Teach Me How To Fight
In The Morning (crowd went NUTS for this one)
First Time
Count Souvenirs
Birthday
FM
Under The Sun (long rocked-out version, this really kicked ass)

Yo.
Just the three of us, huh?
I just realized Justin Scoza from Walter Meego is one of the openers. I'd like to check him out, I think. The Walter Meego website says he plays a 10pm. Via Tania is opening and I just went to her myspace page. I don't know if I'm gonna rush there to hear her, but it's nice stuff.
