American Music Club - The Golden Age

Atlas Sound - Let The Blind Lead Those Who Can See But Cannot Feel

Ray Davies - Working Man's Cafe

We are the stalled career preservation society.

Roky Erickson & the Explosives - Halloween

Theremin to thread.

Headlights - Some Racing, Some Stopping

Dunno anything about this band but I'm pretty sure they suck.

Nick Lowe - Jesus of Cool (remastered with bonus tracks)

Double vinyl here I come.

Morcheeba - Dive Deep

Portishead and Morcheeba back this year? Gen x classic rock in the house.

The Mountain Goats - Heretic Pride

I'm about to pass out just looking at the album cover. Death to indie rock animal bands. Snooze.

The Raveonettes - Lust Lust Lust

Donita Sparks & The Stellar Moments - Transmiticate

All I know is that Donita used to be in L7 and opened for the Donnas recently. That's good enough for me.
Mitchell
And

The Feeling – ‘Join With Us’

Uck Virgin Radio Coma-Rock

Pete & The Pirates – ‘Little Death’

As mentioned elsewhere, this is a lot better than it has any right to be. Very consistent and I'm not trying to be nepotistic.

Groove Armada – ‘Late Night Tales’

Tell me more...

Nil Recurring - Porcupine Tree

Probably not the best person to ask about this.

The Envelopes - Here Comes the Wind

One of the best albums of the year thus.

I Was A Cub Scout - I Want You To Know That There Is Always Hope

Fairly pleasant, need to revisit.

Pretty sure they are all on Kokoro, happy to take questions to answer in the morning.

i thought Mike Doughty had an album out today

You missed a week!!

I've got some missed at home, I'll try to blog tonight or tomorrow.

That Roky is the only thing I haven't been able to hear yet that I care about. Obviously it's going to fucking rock my socks off (if it doesn't turn out to be something I already have).

Hey, I like the Kinks as much as the next guy, unless the next guy is a big fan like Elco. Just funnin', y'all. Ray is alright by me. I really dig the Village Green era stuff, FWIW.

heh, i thought it was actually humorous.

i just figured the perfect yancy post is one where he elicits both a chuckle and anger.

Big Day Today!

Sculptured EMBODIMENT. Side-project of some of the members of Agalloch. Well crafted proggy death/black Metal. Been playing this a lot the past few weeks and is certainly one of my favorite albums I have heard this year already.

Genghis Tron - BOARD UP THE HOUSE. Very tasetful synth-driven, atmospheric deathcore? I am very curiouis to hear a fully mastered recording of this one soon.

Grand Archives - THE GRAND ARCHIVES. Remind me of The New Pornographers and The Polyphonic Spree at times. A bunch of tracks are good incluidng "Sleep Driving" which may be my favorite.

3 - THE END IS BEGUN (re-release w/ a DVD and bonus tracks). Great album from last year, now with a lot of extra stuff.

Porcupine Tree - NIL RECURRING (EP). The US Release of a very good EP. "Normal" is one of the best songs the band has ever done.
Montana

Vagabonds - Gary Louris

surprised that no one mentioned bon iver. Isn't he big around these parts?

There's also a new KRS-ONE. And an Allison Moorer (covers - a couple good ones. Dancing Barefoot, for one.)

But this is the one I want to hear:

Bleep Blop
Is this Atlas Sound record any good? A few of the tracks he posted on his blog seemed alright.
Hips

technically, it's a reissue
and you're better off just listening to iron & wine (not that bon iver isn't good, just nothing that hasnt been done before and better)
Mike N.
"American Music Club" can GTFO. I can't comment on the rest since I'm drowning in indie schlock.

And once again, this year is VERY WEAK so far.
