10. "Diamonds in the Dark" – 3:57 <----- THE RAR IS MISSING THIS TRACK, UPLOAD ON THE WAY
http://www.nme.com/reviews/mystery-jets/7872It's not going to win album of the year, it probably would struggle to feature in most people's top tens but it's certainly interesting enough and there's a bit more flesh on it than the usual three singles UK debuts.

nobody hears the Futureheads in this album?
r.i.p.
Mar 10 2006, 02:56 PM
Don't really hear much Futureheads, aside from some slight vocal moments. As far as recent British bands go, I would put these guys closer to Dogs Die in Hot Cars and The Coral, but with more attempts at pop songwriting, which I suppose is more inside the Futureheads lines (especially on the Boy Who Ran Away).

I can defintely hear Dogs Die In Hot Cars in it. It is quite prog lite in places. The more I listen, the more I like it.

On my first listen, it didn't really jump out at me, but I did slot it in between listening to classic albums from the '65 - '74 era, so that may have been a little unfair on them.

Still is, one of the few debut guitar albums from these shores this year that is pretty consistent throughout and I can say is worth at least an 8.

The sampler is good, think that Erol Alkan is a good choice for them too, makes sense after James Ford did the first to stick with that sort of production.

yeah, the song with laura marling on is great, i don't know much else of theirs, i've maybe heard one other single, i think it had some blokes' name in it but yeah, the laura marling song is really good, as are most things involving laura marling, especially her album alas, i cannot swim, laura marling's album that is, its good.

Mar 3 2008, 10:48 AM
Also the "whoa-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh, whoa-oh-oh-oh-oh-ooo" part in (I think) "Half In Love With Elizabeth." Lots of little Police moments scattered about. In a good way, not in a geriatric Sting playing jazz versions of hits at Wrigley Field way.
edit: "Young Love," not "Elizabeth." Though the latter has Police-like "doo doo doo" vocals as well.

The guitarist needs to sing lead more often.

so i dl'ed this from koroko mainly because of this:
Genre: Indie Pop / Indie Rock /Post-Punk Revival
so a genre that happened after another genre is being brought back?
the return of the curse of the creature's ghost?

Making Dens was one of my 5 favorites in 2006. Was really happy to see them at Schubas last year. They all hung around forever during Jamie T's set and I had a great conversation with their singer about England city music culture vs. Chicago.
Thanks for the info about their new songs.

Kokoro lazily tag most indie rock bands with any kind of angular riffs as "post-punk revival". The Young Knives and Tokyo Police Club have also gotten the tag recently... Don't pay attention to that stuff.

(not about the jets, but in general)
cant we come up with a new name for the genre?
how about brity?
londy?

I dunno man, I don't think people use "post-punk revival" to refer to British bands exclusively. Pretty sure the first time I read anyone use that term, they were referring to Interpol.
