Not everyone is a fan, but yes, many people, including me, really like it. They've gotten away from the slow songs of the last few and put out a more energetic album. I think it's their best since Hi-Fi--I know, that's not saying much. It doesn't rank with their classics, but it's a good, fun record.

especially kingdom come. it's terrible, but kind of balls-out awesome. the whole album flows so well, there isn't a single wasted moment to my ears. lyrically, musically, amazing. it saddens me when people don't notice this.

i'm not crazy about most of this album, but "Okay, Let's Talk About Magic" is pretty great.

After first listen I wasn't really digging the new Portishead album, but after a 2nd spin I like 3 songs and really love the new single. Maybe this will grow on me. Either way, the drumming on Machine Gun is awesome!

i haven't listened to much from this year, but... that Neon Neon album is awesome. Spurred a Super Furry revisit. I love the 80s. Those 'rap' songs are garbage though. What were they thinking? and El Guincho is pretty cool too. Also feeling Hercules. Definitely down with the 70s electro disco revival.

I know its still a a leak but surprised more arent listing the new Black Keys. Fantastic record.

Right now I'm still blown away by the Badu album. Easily my number one at this point.

i've been holding off on buying that (money issues), but the longer i wait, the harder it gets! might have to drop the cash today. i am expecting nothing less than brilliance. didn't even realise til yesterday that sa-ra produced a portion of it

i love the sounds and retro styles, but the songs get repetitive and sometimes annoying.

The first two tracks blew my mind but then it got a bit patchy for the rest. I really like what she's doing though, and it's nice to hear someone from the 'neo-soul' brigade get a bit loosey-goosey and Funkadelic.

For me it's all about those sounds...atmospheric...and so groovin' gorgeous

and this is why i hate genres. good music is good music, or should be.

lol. Cookie monster vocals = automatic crap IMHO.
