first post in this thread...
the only previous exposure i'd had to this band was jim + greg's playing a track from it on a buried treasures show back in the summer. i was underwhelmed. however, fast forward 7 months, and their take on "poke" alone from the recent SO was basically enough to convince me that these dudes have way more talent and merit than i previously gave them credit for. beautiful song and a devastating performance. wow.

ha. kind of in the same boat. had this forever ago, listened, got all montana and felt like every song on this album was an introduction to the real songs that were gonna be released at a later date apparently.
went back and now i can't put it away.

Great to see the FR has such amazing support.
I saw them open for The Twilight Sad in a basement club in Edinburgh in the summer of 07 - so echo-y loud the only lyric I can remember making out was "you're the shit and I'm knee deep in it" - honestly we kind of made fun of them for awhile before hearing MOF and having our giggles of derision smacked into smiles of joyful appreciation.
MOF is definitely top ten of 08 for me. Not a poor song on there. And really the only non-hip-hop album of the last few years that can claim half its charm from its lyrics. Kind of reminded me of the charming wordplay of an older Scottish band - the Trashcan Sinatras. Anyone remember them?
