Adam Sandler's new movie has received the blessing of the State of Israel. In the movie, Sandler plays a former Israeli intelligence officer who settles in the United States and assumes a new identity. The movie portrays Arabs as being wacky, inept buffoons, which simply reinforces the negative stereotypes that Middle-Easterners are subjected to here in the Westen World. Do you think Sandler is pandering to Israeli people with this movie?

The man's continued status as a bankable Hollywood star is a lot more offensive than any stereotypes that may be contained in this film.
He's made a career of pandering to someone or other.

Is "wacky" really the stereotype Arabs are facing these days?
"I don't hire any Arabs to work at my company. Nothing against them, they're just a bit too... wacky for how we do things here."

I hear there are a lot of hummus jokes in this one.
I guess that's pandering but Sandler, Robert Smigel, and Judd Apatow are all...ya know...Jewish.

It was on Yahoo about a week ago; okay, maybe I exaaggerated the truth a little, but some Israelis have gone on record saying they liked the movie.

Ha, just a bit.
Guys, remember when Ariel Sharon said Eight Crazy Nights was his favorite film of 2002? Singlehandedly extended the second intifada for another half-decade. And I can't really blame the Palestinians for that one.
