As with the simularly surreal, brilliant and bizarre Beatles trip that is The Magical Mystery Tour, many people hate the Monkees' big trippy psychedelic finale that is the equally surreal, brilliant and bizarre 33⅓ Revolutions Per Monkee. I, of course, don't go along with those people. I love 33⅓ Revolutions Per Monkee - just as I love the Monkees' previous spaced-out Head trip. Like Head and Magical Mystery Tour, I must have watched this hundreds of times and am still always amazed how completely nuts it all is. Something like this could only come from the far-out late 60s and 33⅓ Revolutions Per Monkee is definitely far-out - way out in fact - and is a unique viewing experience which will leave you gobsmacked! Originally shown on NBC in April 1969, this one-of-a-kind music special stars Mike Nesmith, Mickey Dolenz, Davy Jones, Peter Tork, Brian Auger (and The Trinity), Julie Driscoll, Paul Arnold & The Moon Express, Fats Domino, Jerry Lee Lewis, Little Richard and The Clara Ward Singers. Created and produced by pioneering British television and music producer Jack Good and directed by Art Fisher. Written by Jack Good and Art Fisher.

Massively underappreciated, even next to the also underappreciated Head.
