It was really well run last year. The only time I really felt like I was in a crowd was during Arcade Fire, and presumably it'll be better this year with more park space and a ticket cap. I was much more uncomfortable during the B&S show last week than I was at Lollapalooza.

honestly i think this year's Coachella lineup is one of their worst. i'd take Bonnaroo, Lolla, and Sasquatch over it this year. lotta up and coming bands, but not many "big hitters" that i care about.

I've been checking the Rants and Raves on craigslist this morning - it's amazing how much people still equate preferring Pitchfork and Intonation with being a hipster because the bands are not as big.
The "I'm cooler, I'm going to Intonation and screw the big corporate festival" argument is such crap, especially considering how many of the bands at Lollapooza are preferred by the Pitchfork crowd.

i'll admit they could use a lot more hip hop, i don't really care much about the electronic side of things.
but by the same token, they didn't NEED to include Nickel Creek, a bluegrass/pop hybrid really either. there's plenty of other genres that are under-represented in this lineup too, not just hip hop/electronic.
i'd imagine there will be more hip hop & electronic added later

Are you convinced Sigur Ros is a main stager? I wouldn't be surprised if they are on the outdoor stage. Anyway why wouldn't they be great in that setting? Their music to me is absolutley perfect for a nighttime set in the beatuiful desert oasis.

Come on I went to area 1 and 2 they both were awesome. Outkast played the first one and bowie the second plus a bunch of killer djs. I am sure some electronic acts will be added. Last year Mark Farina and Derrick Carter both played. It would take a major dance act like Daft Punk Prodigy or Crystal method to get me away from the main stages at lolla

Thats true I remember a couple of other electronic oreinted tours were booked in 2001 or 2002 and they all got canceled due to poor tickets sales. Electronic- DJ tours just do not sell in America. I guess if you want to go to a festivial with lots of djs go to creamfields in England
