I don't really care when answers come, but I wish they wouldn't run promos saying that this week questions will be answered, and then not answer any.

We learned whether Sayid was good or bad, which seems significant.

We learned he was willing to believe Flocke - whether that's the same as learning that he's good or bad remains an open question.

At least, we hope.

I think the show has always made a point of showing that no one is completely good or evil. They're obviously going to let this theme play out until the last episode.

Last night's episode was pretty predictable, so I guess I'm just happy that the temple situation is over and the characters are finally taking sides. I will not be a happy camper if Ben is killed off next week.

I don't think he will be killed off....if he was gonna be killed off for real I seriously doubt they'd tell us about it in the preview. I mean last weeks preview was "we can't even show you a preview cause it's so secret" and now this weeks preview is "bens gonna die!!!!!" it just doesn't make any sense.

Although I have to say I expected Sayid to murder him right there last night when Ben went waltzing into the hot tub room.

so weird that ben so readily went to get sayid. who in their right mind would leave a group to go get someone else while smokey is out and
about?

Smokey has let Ben live several times now, I think Ben just assumes smokey won't kill him.

which reminds me that smokey is a protector? a killer? a good thing that you keep out of your area?
i know that the writers are saying they wont clear everything up, but this they will. they have to.

Awesome. Outstanding. This is LOST the way I like it, feeling from week to week as if I've grasped the edges of the thing, yet every episode leaving me going, "What the hell -"

As for Mr. Kennan and his ongoing disregard for the theory that free will plays into it, funny how every week there's more and more choices that have to be made, isn't it?

So we're still assuming the Man in Black is inside Flocke? And that this isn't simply all Good vs. Evil?

With 10 episodes left, they're sure setting us all up to see it as Good v. Evil - if they're gonna pull a fast one, they better do it soon.

Or the illusion of choices, anyway. At least with regard to Jacob.

And to be honest: I said to my friend "I would not be surprised if some random maniacal laughing were to occur at any time." Like, the way the show is presenting Flocke/Sayid/Claire and Company right now is HIGH CAMP. If it ISNT simply Good vs. Evil, than the show is deceiving the audience unsmartly and only for the sake of deceit.
Basically, in my book, if it IS simply Good and Evil, then very lazy and simplistic.
If it ISN'T, then manipulative in the wrong ways.

Funny, about those "expanded" reruns... or "enhanced" or whatever. Ever read/watch them at all? The way they are worded and dumbed down sort of make me opt for the Lazy and Simplistic Conclusion of Good Vs. Evil. Ie: "That is Jack. He is a man of science. And a doctor" "Locke is a man of faith," etc. Facts about the characters presented in such a way of the simplicity of a children's story.

Jack is a man of science, sure, but he is not only a man of science, and to pigeonhole the characters thus, so simply and archetypally, as they are doing this season so far, is pretty trite.

Kennan-- did it ever occur to you that although the notes are rather obvious, they might actually contain clues as to what the hell is going on? Kind of like highlighting the Cliff's notes?
