Otm. I may have talked about it out here before, but when JB did Taste of Chicago about 10 years back, he pulled out a 12 or 13 minute long version of "It's a Man's Man's World." First, that was a pretty daring move for a free show. Second, it killed. Dude was pretty awesome performer till the day he died.
And he looked great for another 6 months after he died!

Ugh. I saw these guys twice, and halfway through the second show I was wondering why I hadn't learned my lesson at the first. 3 hours of wankery. Jesus, 13 minutes of wandering and eventually finding your way back to a song is not great live music -- it's ADD on stage.
Here's another name to consider when talking about legendary live shows: Bruce Springsteen. The thing about his shows? They never required drugs or stage props to be great.
