There's a large difference between being a shitty poster and a long banned user necro-bumping his threads that are nothing more than adverts for his blog. The latter is banworthy (again) the former is just unfortunate and annoying.

SOMB TIMELINE: 10th Edition
March 2003: "In March 2003, there was a SOMBie get-together at the Abbey Pub. A lot of the big-name SOMBies went. Jim and Greg did a show there and we watched it. I forget who the hell played.
not that it's important, but the band at the Abbey Pub show was Sparta.

this topic is clearly pinned and labeled. please use it for the SOMB archive thread, instead of creating a new one.

Hey Rufus, this isn't the archive thread, it's a thread about the archive thread, which it seems no longer exists.
I feel this is an important distinction.

people were posting too much discussion and otherwise non-archive worthy stuff in the archive threads, so we put it in a locked forum. this way we can filter the good stuff from here into there manually. it was too much work to go through that thread all the time and move the discussion posts over to this thread.

Ever since it's been featured on Check Please, the bar & grill known as Kuma's Corner has been overpacked with crowds, which is really a mystery to me. First of all, you have to order the menu items exactly as the cooks prepare them. Let's say you just wanna cheeseburger; nope, you gotta have an egg and whatever else the menu specifies as to how that particular burger is prepared. What ever happened to the motto the customer always comes first? So much for priding yourself on being a leftist dining establishment, if a customer can't order what he or she wants. Second of all, why is there nothing but people with tattoos & piercings as waitstaff? Does the owner have some sort of freak fetish, or is he trying to attract an alternative crowd, I don't know. There's yet another rule in this supposed leftist eating utopia: you can't request music, so you gotta put up with Cradle of Filth or whatever other nu-metal crap just happens to be blaring from the speakers. Oh, and if you're trying to be a leftist eating establishment, you should try to keep food prices under $10. Heck, there's some places out here in the burbs where I can get a full meal for under $10, let alone a burger. In closing, Kuma's Corner is no Famous Freddie's, nor will it likely ever be. I could care less if Kuma's $$$ Corner continues to draw in the crowds, because I'll be eating elsewhere.
Another thing I enjoyed about this is how he gave up on it almost right away and didn't even really bother to argue with anyone, he just moved on to his next adventure (the creepy Erin Andrews thread).

3 or 4 years ago, someone on the board had their picture featured on the front page of usatoday.com.
It was during the winter and in a story about frigid winter weather, below zero windchills, etc. In the picture he was crossing the street or something, pulling his coat up close to his neck, and had a painful expression on his face.
I sort of want to say it was scarymuppet but I don't remember for sure.
