The Good Dr Bill
All right, so maybe you didn't make it to the VH-1 World Series of Pop Cutlure, but fret not--The Good Dr. Bill is here to cure your trivia-aching needs. So be there tonight in the Soulseek SOMB chat room at 11:00/10:00 central for a twenty-question dose. Can Raj repeat his Big Lebowski victory? Is the Return of the Sausage looming? Will Mitch ever stay up late enough to show up and kick everyone's asses?

Only one way to find out.

Dude, the ratings for this would have gone through the roof if you mentioned me in the preview.

Man, sucks that I'll be at Hot Chip. I love these.

hm, I suppose this could be an issue for several SOMBies. We'll see how attendance is, a postponement might be inevitable.

if you cancel it tonight, give us a few days notice for the rescheduled time...
The Good Dr Bill
bump.

We'll see how many willing participants there are in 25 minutes.
The Good Dr Bill
congrats to Scarymuppet, emerging victorious in his very first time out at SOMB trivia. Props to Frankie and Howard Rock for their strong 2nd and 3rd place showings.

For those of you that couldn't make it this time around, come out tomorrow for an encore performance, assuming there's enough people to make it worthwhile.
BennyHillsBalls
ok, i'm sure this is going to sound incredibly moronic, but i can't find the chat room?

Howard Rock
Took me a while to find it too...

Log into slsk.
right click in the "room list" window (I have to do this on the scroll bar or it selects a room).
Wait for list to refresh.
Order the list by "room name" by clicking at the top....
Scroll down to "Sound opinions room"
Highlight Join room
voila!
Hips

do you have a list of the questions that were used last night. i'd love to have a look and see what i missed.
The Good Dr Bill
well, it's not exactly straight trivia like "what was the name of the third album released by Johnny Hates Jazz"--the questions are a paragraph long and you have to be the first to figure out what the question is describing. Come by tonight if you'd like a fuller demonstration.

don't even bother kat, the questions are demonstrably biased towards the nerdy males of the world.

You don't get to complain about this anymore until you can come up with a viable alternative / suggestions for improvement.

teach me the question writin' rules and i will make a set for trivia next week.
The Good Dr Bill
what's there to teach? You've played a few games now, you know how they work. If you want guidelines I can send you some of my old packets or if you have any specific questions I can answer them, but otherwise I'm not sure what you want to know.
geoneb
Bill, were you a scholastic bowler in high school?
The Good Dr Bill
no--I'm not sure if my school had such a thing, and if it did I never heard mention of it. But I do the college equivalent, which is cooler anyway because in addition to the regular scholastic bowl stuff (commonly referred to as "academic"--lit, math, science, geography, history, etc.) there's also a faction called "trash" (movies, music, TV, sports, other pop culture miscellany) which I find infinitely preferable. That's the kind of trivia I write/read in these soulseek chats.
