I think a lot of the female boarders here struggled to find male companionship IRL and took advantage of the male message board demographic (lonely, horny and desperate) - exceptions to this being folks like Damo, paves, myself and Chrono - and after they had their way w/ them they moved on.

Everyone knows the best way to gauge a board favorite is how many of his/her quotes posters have in their signature on any given day. This seems to be the true vote - sort of like being published. Your work has to filter up to another level of acceptance.
Duff.

I think it has more to do with star ratings. Most times when you're quoted in a signature it's because you're getting made fun of.

The effort it takes to put a comment in your sig is more than clicking a star(star ratings can also be manipulated by false accounts, something this forum had a very big problem with). It is without doubt the highest possible vote. Whether the person dislikes the poster in the quote is irrelevent. The effort invovled conveys that the sig quoter was moved in some way by that poster's comments. It all comes down to "does this poster affect you?". Taking the time to put their quotes in your sig is the ultimate answer to that. You are also including it in everything you do in SOMB;almost like definitive punctuation. It is no different than walking around outside with a patch on your clothing. Would you put something you hate on your clothing for people to read?
I don't think so......
Being quoted is the ultimate form of flattery in a text medium. That's all I have to say on this matter.
Duff.

I suppose not. But like the stoner who wears a DARE t-shirt, one might put something on that one finds amusingly out of touch with reality.

remarkably, while i recognize the vast majority of the names on the list, there are only a couple dozen posters on there that i know anything about - just as posters! 3 of the top 10 i could not for the life of me name a thread i'm certain they had posted in, let alone started
regarding the voting thing i'd bet that outside the top 102 (and probably outside the top 50 really) they names might as well have been put in a blender and spit out in random order

Did gay guy who camps and now it's a big deal go crying off to wankingrufus to get it deleted?
turbo faggotry on both their parts, if so.
anyway, I’d like to say that Get Carter is right up there in terms of British films but the top five are Withnail and I, The Third Man, Brief Encounter, Dead Man's Shoes and The Ladykillers imo.

I think I know who you're talking about.
The thread didn't have anything to do with that guy. I just wanted to talk about Flash Gordon.
I guess it looked like harassment to someone. Which is funny, because even if it was (which it wasn't), there's nothing in the board rules about the subject. I thought people could do anything as long as it wasn't against the board rules.
