Hot Chip is quickly approaching at the Metro.
I believe I will be there and then will also be in attendance of the Hot Chip after show DJ set at SmartBar.

I just bought an "Over and Over" vinyl the other day that said it was "1 of 1000." It's doubtful that it will ever materialize to anything other than just some neat little collectors thing I have, but yeah, anyone want to buy it off of me for like three hundred bucks? It's rare!.....

I know one other person who has it, too. Juan Maclean spun it this summer when I saw him spin/perform on a boat on the Hudson River. The three of us should get together and lay some tracks down and shit, maybe DJ a party together or something.

if it gets super hot in the metro, you can expect a flurry of derek's clothing flying everywhere. or if derek gets super drunk, you can expect similar, sexy results.

It's possible that you'll have trouble. If i were you i would buy that ticket as soon as you can.
God i remember at Lolla how in the beginning of their set, not too many people were there... But by the end, the stage was PACKED...
That was such a good show. i was the guy who snagged a free poster and then proceeded to get really stoned in front of everyone.

Final 'Warning': Hot Chip Looks To Move On QUOTE
October 31, 2006, 3:50 PM ET
Mark Sutherland, London
Hot Chip's sophomore DFA set, "The Warning," is only just taking off worldwide, but the U.K. rock outfit say it can't wait to get started on album number three. "This album's been worked for a long time in our minds even if it seems brand new to a lot of people after the Mercury Prize nomination," singer and songwriter Alexis Taylor tells Billboard.com. "We'll start the new record in January."
In fact, Taylor and songwriting partner Joe Goddard have already recorded nine songs but have made the decision to start again from scratch, in an attempt to capture their newly expanded live sound.
"Everything we've recorded in the past has been made by just me and Joe in his home without studio costs, so we were afforded quite a lot of freedom," he says. "This time, we'll be in a proper studio and make it the way we play live, with all five of us, so it's going to be very different."
A new single, "Double Shaw", will be issued in the U.K. before the end of 2006 and the band is already playing several as-yet-unreleased songs live. Taylor promises a diverse range of sounds, from the straight house of "Hold On" to the "heavy metal meets the Ronettes" of "Out at the Pictures".
"We've got one song that starts as an Afrobeat rhythm but then drops into a half-speed ballad. We're calling it 'Graceland' at the moment because Joe wanted the drums to sound like the Paul Simon song," Taylor reveals.
Hot Chip begins a North American tour tomorrow (Nov. 1) in Baltimore, but Taylor warns that their dancefloor anthem "Over and Over", which was recently re-issued as a single in the U.K., peaking at No. 27, might not be in the set much longer.
"On our U.K. tour, it seemed like people in the front row were waiting for that one song," he says. "In the past, I've dropped songs from our set that I've felt were getting too much attention and I'd quite happily ease off playing 'Over and Over' and play some other music. Mind you, there are four other people in the band who would probably fight against me on that."

I've heard Hot Chip's singles and a couple of random tracks here and there and I thought they were good. I've seen the guys interviewed and I liked where they were coming from musically, for lack of a better way to phrase it. But it was never enough to make me excited about them and buy their records. The other day I watched the video for "Boy From School" on YouTube and I've since watched it over and over, no pun intended. The song's been swimming in my head and it won't leave and I don't want it to. When I get paid, the first thing I'm doing is buying The Warning.

Did anybody else hear this? It wasn't enough that they played "No Fit State". No no. They had to throw parts of New Order's "Temptation" in there too. My head nearly exploded from the euphoria of hearing my favorite Hot Chip song combined with one of my favorite songs of all time. Hot Chip were clearly mocking my inability to attend their show next week.
